Also, it helps that he is not directly targeting people whose generosity he financially depends upon. For example, it would be a bit different if every Tesla you bought comes with a leaflet promoting doge.

That being said, Musk did draw a lot of criticism with his tweets. But Tesla, SpaceX, etc are a lot bigger than just Musk. Professional streamers live and die on their persona.

Musk definitely lost the remaining respect I had for him when he got in and out of BTC the way he did. Not illegal, but completely irresponsible behavior that may've cost many people a lot of money for no good reason. His excuse for backing out was absurd, because it means he didn't do the most superficial of research when he got in, considering he's presumably so incredibly concerned for the environment.

By the time Flash comes back from army I think BW will be done.

I'm guessing Bisu will come back near the next ASL, which should be in a few months. He'll face a backlash anyways, since he has a lot of rabid, irrational fans but not enough for him to completely call it quits.

BW will be done for progamers unfortunately. BW will grow more as a casual game. Just week ago there were 50k concurrent users and many major streamers streaming BW. FYI highest concurrent user peaked in 2009 with 67k. That's pretty good. Progaming scene has taken a hit. If you think bw will be done just because flash and bisu are not there I gotta say you're pretty wrong and haven't been keeping up with general bw scene.

Indeed. BW is more than just Flash and Bisu. The recent ASL finals was great and Larva/Mini have grown into their own right. I think as long as the BW playing population numbers are healthy, BW is not going anywhere even if something like ASL finishes, sad as that may be.

BW as a game yes, it won't go anywhere. It's been surviving on its own for far longer than the recent resurgence let's say.

But I was talking about the pro-gamer afreeca scene. Bisu/Flash represent the main attraction of those sponsored team league games played online bringing in most fan donations and without those there is no money for grabs for the Soulkey/Sharp's of the world going forward. And if there are only 5 people streaming BW at a high level of competition, that's not much of a scene now is it?

it's honestly better now because flash/bisu were kinda gatekeeping bw scene in a weird sense. It's more interesting when unknown players start rising. For instance, mini is really young and he had average 100~200 viewers. Now, he gets 500~2k. It's time for younger players to step up. Flash/bisu were gone anyway due to either declining skills or rekt wrist.

ASL is a huge hit (Last finals viewer numbers). Why would it be the last ASL?
