Hi everyone!
Atm I'm negotiating with Inferno Online Gaming Center in Stockholm. They are planning to rebuild their Arena this fall, and it will reopen in the spring.
We're planning to host a SC:Rem 1on1 tournament in combination with the opening of the new Arena. This will most likely be in the end of march, saturday 28th march is the date we have on the table atm!
There will be a buy-in fee wich will be for your gaming station in the arena and also part of it going to the prizepool. The section will be closed down for SC only and available for everyone who wants to participate from when the tournament starts to around 07:00 in the morning the day after, The arena also have stands for people to come watch. wich means almost 20 hours of sc!
Depending on the outcome, the main tournament will be a 1on1 tour, but if enough 2on2ers attend I will also make sure to host a 2on2 tournament in the evening after the 1on1 tour.
We will have a casting studio available to cast the tournament, random showmatches and interviews, and every computer will have OBS installed so everyone can livestream their games as well. Everyone can bring own equipment such as keyboards, mouses, webcams, headphones. Softwares will be installed for all equipment by the time we arrive, we will also setup 1 or 2 cameras wich will show live feed from the arena during the whole event.
As I wrote in the beginning, I'm still negotiating the prize with the gaming center so nothing is written in stone.
What I need to know is how many would be interested in attending this event?

I have real sweet memories from the inferno online gaming center. Can't promise anything, I might be too busy with work in march, but sounds like a lot of fun and I will try to make it.

I live in Karlstad (2h train) and am interested in coming! I would like to participate in tournaments but i'm only 1900 MMR so i'll prob get kicked out early xD. I'm also interested in commentating the games :-)

Cool, I'm from Karlskoga, but I live in Västerås since 8years back.
Anyways, any level is welcome, if u get kicked out of the tournament you will still have your seat all night long to keep playing with everyone else who gets kicked out.
And I would love it if you wanted to commentate, you can jump in and co-cast with me unless you go win the tour!

I think I will keep updating this thread! It's still so early on, so havent thought that part out yet, we'll see when everything is settled what will happen.
But i'll keep updating this post, and if i create a new one, i will update this with the info that a new one has been created XD

If you split a room with someone the cost for a hotelroom near the central parts of stockholm is around 70-100$/night So if u only stay in stockholm for the event, friday-sunday and take hotel close to the central station to have easy access to trains going to airport, then the cost would be 200€ (100€ each).

Hello everyone!
Sadly, the offline event has been cancelled. I couldnt reach an agreement with the Gaming center in Stockholm.
If anyone still wants to come this weekend, we can all just go there and rent computers and have a gathering! We can play SC for half a day, and then go out for drinks afterwards!

Sorry to hear that your deal fell through. However, I urge everyone to still attend. BW LANs are awesome - if you've never been to one, you need to experience it - and the current potential list of sign-ups looks frickin awesome. I also will say after talking to Dreamhack it's super simple to get them to agree to doing a tournament and funding it.
I know the instant response is "but it's byoc" but if you talk to PC vendors you can probably get them to loan PCs for it or something.
Reach out to companies, the worse that can happen is they say no.

Yeah that's true.. but this is a Gaming center.
But we have a lan in my hometown wich has 2500 seats, it is a BYOC lan, but you can also rent a full gaming set for the whole LAN. so hopefully I can get a BW tour going when they host their next LAN.
