CJ Entus Zerg player Lee JuYoung (OverSky), and Hanbit Stars Protoss player Park DaeMan (Daezang), will be joining the army in late June. (June 25th, I think)
OverSky is the 3rd gamer from CJ to enter the army, while Daezang is the 4th gamer from Hanbit to enter the army.
They will recieve initial training, and then join the Airforce ACE Team.
Meanwhile MBCGame will be discussing with CJ on OverSky's position in the current MSL.

Two very good players, bad for their teams, good for Ace!
|
Damn.
I guess they're like, shit I don't want to go in the military when these guys leave they'll probably remove the team!. Let me in on the party before i miss out!
|
wow these are decent players ;O, not washed up
well ok daezang is pretty good oversky sux :p
|
o crap daezang. I like watching him play actually. How old are they? Has daezang been around a long time?
|
|
daezang was on fire not too long ago. its too early for him o well he will do good in aCe
|
In past times, I would've gone "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo"
But now since there's the ACE team, they won't disappear =)
|
|
Good news for ACE team
|
smart choice by daezang. Since hes young he could probably do the military service like in 3 more years but by then maybe there wont be an Ace Team. So now hes assured that he wont have to suffer extensive training.

In the next few years, ACE will be drowning with old BW players, I'm fairly sure. They would be, but military service in Korea only lasts 24-27 months; ACE should have pretty regular turnover. It's just nice that progamers no long have to dodge the military if they're posting strong results.

ACE could use some more
|
Daezang is amazing, I still remember that 4 gate speedlot rush against Savior where he came so close to winning, a strat that would've easily taken down any other zerg. And in Proleague he, along with Free and GGPlay, formed an unbeatable combo that brought the struggling Hanbit great success.
GGPlay mentioned in the OSL group ceremony that their team's been going through some issues recently. If that had some influence on Daezang's recent slump, then he'd be making a great decision in joining the air force.
|
yay, i hope to see ACE go far in proleague here after a couple seasons :p
|
OverSky is definitely in awesome shape right now.
GL to ACE.

Bat toss!
Oversky :O
ACE roster will get better and better.
They might be one of the better teams next term.
Highly amusing ^^;

@..@ Quite amusingly ridiculous in the sense that you join the army to train to be a real man protecting the real country, not another computer nerd smashing the keyboard to kill aliens. But this is Korea, so w/e .
|
ACE is getting quite strong, with Boxer, Foru (if he'd get his act together), Daezang now...Mumyung and Clon/Chrh, HOT...woo

i wonder who the next CJ captain will be
|
|
lol they went to the military early so that they can join ACE.. that's so smart.. because soon the team will be too full to take more people, or they will be making cuts or have to do something.. everyone will want to join. I swear everyday some player joins ACE, i randomly watched proleague and there was Rage and fOru already.
Name a list of potential people who could go Military/ACE at any point in time?
GoRush, IntoTheRainbow, Kingdom, Sync, YellOw, ChoJJa, rA, Reach, SaferZerg, JJu, ZergMaN, Zerglee, TT, GGon, Yooi, Child, CCoMa, TheWinD, ArtOfTerran, Cool[fou], Tester..[gm], ELIZA, July?, Pusan, Junitoss, Shark, Xellos, MinGu, Much[gm], NaDa, Stay[Hyo], Silver, Rock, Hoony, Kunimiss, Qoo)Max, Zeus, Side, Terato, Shinhwa[Name]...
wow that list was even longer than I expected it to be and I expected it to be pretty long. obviously you can exclude some players from being considered in the ACE mix because their current salaries are a sufficient tradeoff for not leaving early. but thats still quite a few names there.. and yes, im sure some of them are younger than I assume but w/e.. they're all in that general ballpark

What the fuck is wrong with taking the opportunity to continue living a semi-normal life?

im sure they'll get it just as tough as boxer did in the army...
playing sc all day.

WORD.

No wonder I haven't seen Daezang do anything lately. He kicked some serious ass in his short time as a pro before he disappeared. One of my favorite protoss. Tough for Hanbit to lose a player like that.
Oversky was meh...
|
hasn't daezang actually been around as pro since forever?

daezang decided to study and go to school before getting his pro licence.
|
haha garimto wanted to write the "manuel" on returning pros after mili service.
now it's like they never left. too bad fer rimto mili didnt come up with ACE sooner.
|
at this rate ACE probably owns Proleague next year!
|
Daezang was cool, he had his moments where he was pretty damn good, I thought he was younger though ~_~
Oversky was as alot of other people said kinda meh, never really had showings.
Still though ACE's lineup is getting alot of players lately it seems like, pretty crazy.
|
damn, DaezanG was my favourite pro player :/ Dont think he will come out of his slump in the ACE team but time will tell >_<
|
still waiting for the army to call up savior and nada for thier proteam

yea I think Daezang is ~23?

Daezang didn't become a progamer until around 3 years ago. He hasn't been around for THAT long.
|
lol.. wtf? I'd take Oversky over Daezhang all day. Put him on a team with Rage, GG, 2v2 auto win.
|
I feel bad for the other Korean guys who are forced to do hard shit while these guys play StarCraft...
just ethically, it isn't right..
If i was a progamer, i would ask to turn down the starcraft shit and do normal training
sounds stupid but only we think this shit is cool their friends and family and people around them might think its kinda... well dumb
|
They have to do the same shit that normal recruits have to do as well
|
You said they are talking to cj about oversky's msl position? What does that mean? Oversky going before the msl is over and why would they talk to cj about it? Surely he should forfeit or give his spot to freedom or child? What does cj have to do with it?
|
OverSky played plenty of bnet games and offered many replays for us to watch
i will miss him dearly :'(
|
More roster for ACe, less time for boxr to play
|
Naw, less time for CHRH, HOT, Clon, and ForU to play T.T Especially when Daezhang comes, when will ForU ever play?

Well, how much service time do all of the current ACE players have left?

I imagine the basic training is the same for everyone, pro gamer or not (as they said they'll join ACE after basic). If korean military service is anything like we have here (seeing how both countries have it compulsory), that is the hard part. After basic training you start counting down the days and just waiting to get discharged.

There was a Wildcard round between the 8 losers of the ro16 to determine who gets Oversky's spot:
Wildcard Round Because OverSky won his Round of 16 match but cannot advance to the quarterfinals. That leaves us with 7 players who advanced. Now a wildcard round will be held like the one they held when BoxeR left Pringles MSL. The 8 losers in the Round of 16 will play each other to see who will take that last spot. This will be a single elimination best of 1 play so one loss means no advancing.

omfg Carnac you spoiled it for me!!
j/k
On Topic: If Oversky had time to do the StarBrain event for CJ, why did he have to drop out in the round of eight for the MSL? It seems that he would have been able to play his games in time (especially if they scheduled his bo5 match to be played first). Then, if he were to get done with basic training and everything quickly enough he would have a seed into the next MSL.
