Since we've gone through various stages while establishing the clan, we've made several changes along the way. As such, I figured I'd re-write our information to keep one updated post. This will not be as prone to changes, as we're quite sustainable as it is and don't need to change while building. Having all this said, here's the updated information: [Name]: Clan Revolution [Tag]: .ReV [Server]: Europe [Requirements]: We're very strict on manners. We require that you're active and take part in the clan. You may not be member of any other clan whilst being in ReV (with the only exception being CPL). We also require that you use Discord. [Website]: We've got a forum, which I'd rather not link to here in order to avoid bots. Additionally, we've got a proper site in the making. [General rank]: No skill requirement. However, we're ranging between something like 1100 and 2400 MMR. [Language]: English. [Etc]: We play in two clan leagues - BWCL and STPL. We focus on having our best available players play in the STPL, whereas in BWCL we want to let as many as possible play and get a feel of playing in clan wars. We also arrange friendly clan wars, tournaments, we have an in-clan ranking you can choose to join, show matches, cozy clan gaming nights and in general want to make things interesting for our members. We have a lot of resourceful members who're doing a splendid job in talking to one another, watch replays together and overall help each other improve. We don't mind you being a complete scrub, heck some of our members started playing Starcraft when Remastered came out. But we expect that you take part. It's always a bit difficult at first, getting into a new group, but we'll do our best to welcome you and make you feel at home. Overall, we wish to build. Build each other up, build the community and overall contribute to the game we love. It's completely fair to be frustrated and point out the errors of Remastered, but we won't accept overly resentful hatred. Anger can be useful for progress. Bitterness is nothing but poison. It's a difficult line to walk, but we try nonetheless. So instead, we send tickets and voice our opinions to Blizzard about all the things we find inadequate, while at the same time try to support whatever is happening in the community, as well as try to create events/take part ourselves. These are the types of players we're looking for (in random order): Category 1 - Complete noobs who've just started playing the game I firmly believe that we have a lot more new players in BW than many might think, but that the steep learning curve and the picky clans (not all) makes it more difficult to get integrated into the community. There is the CPL (which is absolutely fantastic), but I still don't think it's quite the same as being in a clan. Hence, I consider it a duty of most established clans to open their doors for at least some of the very new and/or crappy players. If you are extremely new. Heck, even if you struggle hard to even complete the campaign, then I hereby welcome you to ReV. We have several members who do a fantastic job in embracing noobs, giving advice, setting aside time to play and improve together. We also have a very wide range of skill, with everything from people with like 50 apm and only knows how to 9 pool a-move, to members who single-handedly have like 4 accounts qualify for the BSL Proleague. We do require a certain level of activity, and participation socially. We are rather lax, but I maintain that if you join a clan, then you should also take part in the clan. Lastly, we have a very low threshold for speaking your mind. Your skill does not give or take value from your opinion. All members are equal, all voices heard. As long as it is in accordance with the vision of ReV. Welcome to BW! Even though our members are not allowed to be in any other clan than ReV, all members are both allowed and encouraged to take part in the CPL. Category 2 - Tryhards for participation in STPL Aside from being happy-go-lucky Teletubbies, we have a fierce focus on competition in the STPL. For the last round of STPL, and for the seasons to come, we'll be establishing an even more dedicated "program". If you're not familiar with STPL, we are essentially sending in line ups a week before playday. The match is Best of 1. Substitutes are allowed, but only if they're playing the same race. Hence, you'll only have that one map to practice on, and against that one race. We'll be setting up our primary line ups which is announced the week before. But in addition to that, we'll also have our own substitutes set up to practice, in case one of our top players are unavailable for some unforseen reason. Whether you as a recruit ends up in our A-list or will mostly be set up as a substitute, depends on your skill. We always use our strongest players available, but if we're uncertain whether a player can attend on the playday (Sundays), we'll use the next-best players and then go down the list. Okay, so what does this mean for you? This means, if you're driven by competition and have the manners required by ReV, I'd love to have you join us for this reason. You'll have to practice a lot, but I'll also try to arrange it so that you'll have practice partners to practice a lot with. It's still early in its establishment, but there should be a lot of players to practice with already, and even more so as we continue to build around it. If you're set up as a substitute, you might end up having to practice for several matches you'll never even play, but do keep in mind all the practice you'll get. It's not in vain, as it's a safety net we'll need. We aren't the strongest team currently by far, but I firmly believe in building new talents, and that the hardest worker will prevail in the end. There is no tommorrow, if we can't make today's talents bloom. ReV's meadow may be a late bloomer, but I wish to handle all our players as best as I can in order to make ours the most impactful.
