Yeah I doubt that. I would give Flash the edge, but if you think it would be a smack down you really don't know how good Effort is.

If both existed inside a vacuum, sure. Don't get me wrong I love effort. He is scary good. It's just that I have been cheering him on for 4 ASLs now and he has never delivered. He might be able to beat Flash at any other tournament, but at ASL he'll have to make it past the Ro16 before I'll consider him a serious contender.

This time Flash might have to play a Bo5 against one of the strong Zergs. I love Flash but I think the following Zerg players (Larva, Effort and Soulkey) can beat him, in a Bo5. Maybe even JD if he has a good day. Though sometimes I watch him and he kinda seems stuck in the 1st gear. Maybe those health problems of his are starting to catch up with him. Shame, he's still fucking scary when in top gear.

Good post. Larva has a lot of vulnerabilities though against other non-top players (see that set against Rush where he got demolished). That's why Soulkey is better, he does the macro stuff and delivers most of the time, he's consistent. Effort and Jaedong I feel like a this point are only elite at the ultra-aggression style. But that style really doesn't decide tournaments anymore. They're still credible threats any day to anyone though. No doubt about it. I feel bad for Protoss though. I wish Best would get his act together. Shuttle can wire up a few great macro games here and there but that's not really enough.

No, I just want to see him play bw again. He singlehandedly saved the legacy of bw at the end of the kespa era. There is no other player that have made me love the game more than him. I just want to cheer for the guy and pay my respects (having another protoss contender in the field wont hurt either)

I wish Best would get his act together. Shuttle can wire up a few great macro games here and there but that's not really enough. I agree that Soulkey is more consistent, but in late game Larva, in my opinion, is way ahead of other zergs. When I watch his games against Flash, which go into circuit-breaker-split-map-macro-fest, Larva is the only one who can truly outplay Flash. His APM, Macro and multitasking is almost perfect, he just seems to do a little more a little faster. Therefore Soulkey and Larva have different playstyles and different strenghts for sure. On the other hand, like you said, Larva has vulnerabilities. He often dies in early game. However I think that it is easier to polish your early and prepare some strats to get to the late game, then it is to improve your late game macro and apm to Flash level (which would be soulkey case). If I were to choose I would say that Larva has bigger chance to take down Flash. He delivered in ASL4 and he often deliveres against Flash on stream, once he gets to his comfort zone (4+ bases).
