Hi there.
I'm looking for old members of Team Lizard and was hoping to find some old members here on TL.net. So if you were a member of Team Lizard (and maybe still feel as a part of the old family) or have the contact data of some old members, please let me know. (ICQ 6026729, AIM crazypriest911)
Personally I'm especially looking for Sith~ and Death~Lizard (Death might be more well-known). Sith completely disappeared arround 2004 and I lost contact with Death during Warcraft3, somewhere in 2003.
Although Lizard is heavily inactive, me and some other old Lizards finally put up a new website at http://www.teamlizard.net - feel free to visit~
Two more things though:
1. Lizard is very oldschool and if you dont know what I'm talking about, pls dont flame me.
2. I know that Lizard has, in some aspects, a doubtful reputation. Some people see Lizard as an oldschool gosu team, some others more remember about bad rumours related with Giggles and Bongo etc.
My intention is not to discuss these topics and we wont know the truth about some things anyway (personally I still dont know if Giggles was a guy or girl... and I dont care anyway). So same here: Pls dont flame me, thx.

I remember lizard Had a fake "girl" from NYU who was (picture wise) pretty hot. Jenny or something? She was also good so I doubt it was a girl. Good times. Good luck reviving this clan.

I think Lizard had its most "famous" time arround 1998-2000. Thats really long long time ago. The last time Lizard was active in Starcraft was 2002 I think. We changed our name to "Clan Crazy" (well, actually CrazyJim changed the name) for Warcraft3.
Chances are indeed small to find some more old members, but if its possible, then TL.net must be the place

ok ppl keep saying that their style is "oldschool" or something.
can someone define "oldschool"? because as far as I know "oldschool" is the good old days when everyone got static defence before anything and then massed the lowest possible tier unit that attacks both air and ground (marine, dragoon, hydra) then just attack move.
im not trying to sound disrespectful but I really dont know what people mean when they say they are "oldschool".

Played a few with bongo and flammie back in the day. Everything about giggles was suspicious. Jim was stuck so far up 'her' ass it was unbelievable. I remember Jim playing in some b.net online tourney where probably soso won. Think it was for top 32 finishers in ladder season 2 or 3.
I also remember that giggles picture - some girl wearing a NYC top that was way to big for her. Was death lizard also in the-feared?
Think I remember the b.net vs kali tourney where giggles was the female representative for the b.net side. Beat ladyrose(?) 2-0.

Basically I >WOULD< remake Lizard for Starcraft with new members and stuff. Its just sad that my skills are not good enough (I didnt play from 2002 untill November 2006) to "attract" high-skilled gamers. And remaking Lizard with a bunch of intermediates like I am would dishonor the tradition I think

Of course there are hundreds of people come and go over the years. Like I said I'm primarely looking for people who still feel affiliated to Lizard and who might want to join up the team if we ever come back to play a game together.
The member list posted on the website consists of those people, the core members who have been a part of the clan through all the years.

I was actually in ~LiZarD too as Korean~LiZarD. I wasn't there for long time because channel died out couple of months after I joined. I remember it was a big hang out place like how clan x17 is right now @ east. Clan x17 existed with lizard back then. I wonder how LiZarD died while clan x17 channel survives till this day.

I read an old interview with EPO, an oldschool dane who was a top player back then, he said GiGGles was a shared account by a guy and a girl, the girl was mostly chatting on the acc but was pretty good at playing as well but not near as good as the guy.

Hi again. Thanks Immer[Forever] for correcting EPOs country information (I thought he was US, I didnt know him personally). For those who are interested: I finally tracked down CrazyJim with an some-years-old Yahoo email. He posted a short statement on the website.
Also I added an old replaypack of mine (2001) to the downloads. For those who want to see nostalgic games~~ (Flames will be ignored ).

The girls name was GiGGLeS. Like I said I didnt know her too well and I'm not so much deep into the stories about her gender and so on. I doubt that nowadays, with more girls being involved in gaming, the person GiGGLeS would have attracted so much attention as back then. So its obvious that many rumours started etc. Personally I dont care so much about that. Even more since GiGGLeS is completely inactive and I havent seen her since 2001.

Speaking of old clans... anyone remember The Soda Clan? I am sure everyone remembers the-feared, etc. They all existed around this time as well. Pre-replays and all that good stuff. Unfortunately, I played only a few games with Lizard members, and as I don't have reps (didn't exist yet), can't seem to recall their names. Good luck though Priest

I know you probably dont monitor this thread any more but good to see you. I have not seen any other LiZarDs for a long long time. I remember you and death, sith, giggles, crazyjim but cannot think of any others. other than non clan members like annihilator-x17 and [9]Grrrrr... and Jolly, Dark~Savior, etc..
Well you were looking for old LiZarDs and you found the oldest. I created this clan a long time ago because when i tried to get into the Bad_Guy clan, i beat their leader twice in matches and they still would not allow me in. At this point, Bad_Gal_Giggles decided to make a clan with me since her clan was being unreasonable. Shortly after we picked up Crazy_Jim_PA who i think was clanless. The last person we picked up was Bad_Guy_Ishtar. We 4 started ~LiZarD with the intension of having skilled and noob players both and we would accept anyone who was friendly and cool.
Not sure what all the Giggles = guy stuff is. That rumor started and never went away. Truth is i talked to Andri (giggles) all the time on the phone and we even mailed stuff back n forth with Ishtar~LiZarD.
Hope someone reads this and gets a nice flashback to when times were better

BTW I was SToNeD~LiZarD. It was my attempt to relive the glory days of BNET and BroodWars. And i did end up coming in #1 in the ladder that season, although there was not many skilled players around then.

Me too, i was just googling my old clan and it foud this page. Doesn't seem to be much else out there in regards to ~LiZarD. I wished i would have kept in better contact with them, gaming now just isnt what it used to be like it was in the BW era.

Haha I have been out of the game for a bit. I just recently started HOTS and i'm on mission 3, i can only make zerglings at this point so i'm guessing i'm a bit out of practice Not sure if i will get into multiplayer.
It is nice to see so many from this 'era' still clinging to those golden memories. There will never be a time like it in gaming again.

I would love to get into BW again, i tried a few years ago but BNET is way different now. The community that drew me to the game has now moved on. The only thing that would get me back in BW would be something like a reunion tourney with all the guys who played in the first couple seasons.

Thanks Team Liquid for keeping this old post around!! And for assisting and facilitating in trying to reconnect old gamers with each other. This thread and a few other brought back great memories for me (and it looks like for a few others as well). I saw some pictures of Pillars, Grrrr, Soso, and tons of others that i have actually never seen before on other threads on your forums (BW History Part 1). Keep up the amazing work you guys are doing.
I wonder how many of these old skoolers still attend Blizzcon. Maybe more than i think, now that we all have jobs and money to travel.

I know this is kind of off topic but since this was around the super Oldschool days that I believe you were around during, LC ( Ladder Challenges ) Days, does anyone remember yan[gg]ua ? This was a college kid that would go into a computer lab and abuse to #1 every ladder season, and then come into the LC channel and all he would say is " Hello Fans ! " and some other ridiculous things like taking over the universe, man this guy was really bad since people like him were the reason Bnet ladder died for abuse, but god he was hillarious lol.

I remember KING_GEORGE_III was the biggest abuser, and he would come in the channel and say stuff like "i am the best" etc... maybe it was the same guy, since he needed a lot of accounts to be able to make #1.
But i cannot recall Yan[gg]ua. Maybe he was after my time. I am super old skool

I was NicBolas~LiZarD. I played Magic: The Gathering back in the old days and liked Nichol Bolas card from Legends. Way before the "planeswalker" stuff. facebook.com/zakdolan and linkedin.com/zakdolan and google search should bring up my name as well.
GiGGleS~LiZarD was female. This was proven when she played another top female starcraft player, LadyRose, in a challenge match of top female starcraft players. Pretty sure that was authenticated that both were female at the time.
I remember CrazyJim~LiZarD as well. And several of the others.
When Warcraft III beta came out, CrazyJim moved there and started Clan Crazy.
I went to Warcraft III also and had the name CrazyBolas. Still play under the names "Bolas" and "CrazyBolas" on Steam and Battle.net. Bolas#1355.

I'm filled with excitement and feels after I found this thread and read through all of these posts.
DeaTH-LiZarD here, from the original SC. I remember being recruited by Giggles after having a 1v1 solo match with her. I put up a good fight and took my defeat with joy and honor, she liked my style and asked me if I'm looking to join a good clan. I met and played a lot with her, Bongo, Priest, Crazyjim, Seth and the rest for years to come.
At WC3 I made it to #8 solo ladder, 1st with Thrall icon on US-West.
Started as 15 year old boy and today 33 years young, a father and hard worker, these days are way behind me but I still remember and think about them as if it was yesterday.
I'll be looking back here to see if you guys still are.

Yo priest, Bongo, Death, I play League of Legends now. Ampris played with me for while, and Dre played some SC2 before we found out the game was lame with no rush like SC1. Disarray works a bar in Vegas. Ampris some lawyer firm. Dre works for Tesla. I have about 3000 games in two years of playing and I got top 10% of ladder from starting 99.7% bottom of ladder. Yeah, I quit Starcraft when all the win traders showed in 1999 Battle.net and the maphacks. I thought the game died. I got an email inviting me to Korea when I was in college. I thought it was a scam because I never heard of Korea, and the numbers for winning were like 3,000,000,000,000 whatever currency they used. I was legit far and away #1 in the world then. Xds'Grr I identified as #2, and he could never win vs me and I beat him so bad he called me a cheater, but I did not.
I made some money on Asheron's call, gold and equipment selling til about 2001, 800$ a month ain't bad playin a game.
Then War3, you know the story, got #1 1v1,2v2,3v3 USEast, on random, first to 1500 wins. Assassin and Kain never wanted to 1v1 me. I got into Kainers head in one epic Starcraft game and he never wanted to play me ever again, but he liked to team play WITH me. We went like 200-0 before our first loss got because Kain and Assassin got bored and tried to both go straight to tier3 and they told me they were bored at winning.
Blizzard had me as a consultation guy for TFT. I was the guy who said to make the gold on creeps less and a few other things.
ROC was like competitive pacman, kill creeps faster and win, not much pve. I am a game designer, programmer by trade, so by lowering gold, you weight pvp a bit more. It was a genius move, but Blizzard never hired me, and didn't even give me a WOW beta.
Oh Blizzard screwed me with War3 beta tourney too. They told everyone the time for the game, so I showed up in the channel, and took a nap to be rested for my game. I show up, and they say,"Oh we last minute rescheduled the whole tourney one hour earlier, and disqualified you."
I never played war3 tourneys cuz they were like in Texas and sold 32 tickets. Britney Spears concerts with 32,000 tickets sell out in one minute. 32 tickets are given to a bunch of random scrubs with $50 and not actual contenders. If I was smart, I woulda went down and hustled people at games for money, or just called out the winner to play me. I believe I was #1 in the world at the time.
For a lifetime of training, I played 1989 Nintendo World Championships and 1999 Broodwar worlds which I was the favorite, but got 4pool cheesed and guy sent a spy to know my dire straights strategy. Everything happens for a reason I guess.
I didn't stick with TFT, I went solo game making since Blizzard did not hire me. I tried to make a 3d mmo like Tekken, and I'm still tinkering with it. I made a couple games since like Dungeon Run Blackroost Keep on ios, www.throneandcrown.com flash or android, but nothing super big. For some reason I never got a solid game making job, despite gaming like an olympian since 3yrs old, coding since 4 and game designing since 6.

this thread brings out the feels. I didnt hang out in useast or west in that time, but was noobing around since 1998. When I was an exchange student in Montreal some 10 years ago, there was an still active internet cafe, called battle.net. That made me nostalgic. Personally, around 1998, I would hang out in the local Netropolis netcafe in Norway, where guys like =[aBs]=slayer and sven would be. Good old days

I love retro threads like this talking about the oldschool server/clan culture. I missed out on most of popular NA clans and didn't play much Broodwar even when I was watching it every day, so history is super interesting and exciting to me. The kids these days forgot about dre...

I got into Kainers head in one epic Starcraft game and he never wanted to play me ever again, but he liked to team play WITH me. We went like 200-0 before our first loss got because Kain and Assassin got bored and tried to both go straight to tier3 and they told me they were bored at winning. Blizzard had me as a consultation guy for TFT. I was the guy who said to make the gold on creeps less and a few other things. ROC was like competitive pacman, kill creeps faster and win, not much pve. I am a game designer, programmer by trade, so by lowering gold, you weight pvp a bit more. It was a genius move, but Blizzard never hired me, and didn't even give me a WOW beta. Oh Blizzard screwed me with War3 beta tourney too. They told everyone the time for the game, so I showed up in the channel, and took a nap to be rested for my game. I show up, and they say,"Oh we last minute rescheduled the whole tourney one hour earlier, and disqualified you." I never played war3 tourneys cuz they were like in Texas and sold 32 tickets. Britney Spears concerts with 32,000 tickets sell out in one minute. 32 tickets are given to a bunch of random scrubs with $50 and not actual contenders. If I was smart, I woulda went down and hustled people at games for money, or just called out the winner to play me. I believe I was #1 in the world at the time. For a lifetime of training, I played 1989 Nintendo World Championships and 1999 Broodwar worlds which I was the favorite, but got 4pool cheesed and guy sent a spy to know my dire straights strategy. Everything happens for a reason I guess. I didn't stick with TFT, I went solo game making since Blizzard did not hire me. I tried to make a 3d mmo like Tekken, and I'm still tinkering with it. I was a kid without internet connection at home so I used to go to internet cafe every day after school to play RoC on Battle.net. I would download a bunch of replays of you, CrazyAssasin, TillerMaN to study them in the evening at home and trying to copy the builds offline vs AI. Next day we would discuss the builds and the games with friends at school. You guys were my first e-sport heroes, though I think the term e-sports was not even known to me back then.

I remember getting a hold of your account on WC3 RoC after you left. The guy with your account started sending me messages asking me if I was you. I remember thinking that this isn't normal and that your account probably got hacked. So I told him that I am you - and he handed me the password to your account. I was in complete and total shock.
I remember holding on to your account without playing any games or making any changes to it. I'd just log in now and then to make sure it's still active.
Then, on one of the logins, someone started whispering (BTW to all the millenniums - whispering on battle.net was private messaging) to me that it was you, and you're so glad that I held on to your account, etc. etc. I have no idea how he managed to convince me that it was you, but I handed him back the account and watched him completely destroy it with loss after loss after loss.. and I felt so bad about being fooled instead of protecting what was yours.
Anyway, throughout the years I was still able to fetch some memories from back then but the only social proof that's still available today is an old battle report which I did between two players (it's another thing I used to do back then).

I really wish I remembered all the clans/people I played with back when I was young (ages 10-14). I played brood war 4-8 hours a day during that time, mostly the map WWII: Death in Europe. I was actually exceptional at that map. I never played 1v1, but I did play 3v3 and 4v4 BGH and fastest maps like every other foreign chobo.

Hah, crazy. Libets-Lizard sent me a message on Facebook and reminded me of this thread. I'm delighted to see all these old 'faces' (or nicknames, rather) and read some of your guys' stories. Good times! Also nice to see Tashadan still around!
Crazy to think that I've been using "PriestLizard" as my gaming tag for more than 20 years now, and I effectively never joined another clan again for any other game. So as far as I'm concerned, I'm still part of it! Last time I played with other people in the clan was probably early Starcraft 2 days (2010) with Dre and SaGe, and then I had my last tour of competitive gaming in HotS (2013) where I played a bit of 1v1 Masters league.
Now career (I'm a designer on the Total War franchise with Creative Assembly) and family have taken over. If anyone wants to get in touch, "priestlizard" on Steam or Priest~Lizard#7153 on Discord.

Dre and I got top 50 SC2 2v2 without trying about 5 years ago didn't even try. We had over 65% win rate and would be #1 world NOT EVEN trying, lol. I'm still crazy good at video games, probably the top gamer in the world actually, since no one played as much as me 150,000 hours!

I had a Tekken meets WOW in house MMO engine I coded back in 2005 working, but it took too hard of networking configuration to market. Dragon Ball Z world! I kinda coinvented Roll back code for fighters there, yet Midway hiring manager trash talked me like Lock Step was the only way... Lo and behold all fighters using rollback. I'm so afar ahead of the curve, people think I'm off the road... Probably why no one hires me to code anywhere, and no one wants to back my patreon and such...
I don't mind, I'll be a freaking starving artist. When you meet God in Heaven, ask to see my life, you won't be bored! Just two days of my life of the past 1.5 years will bust off the arrow of your B.S. meter! But it's all true baby, it's all true. Love is the way, and all power we have on this life and the next flows through the love. In the arcades, I spent about 10,000 hours between 1980 and 1995, I saw hate NOT ONCE. Online tho, its a plague, the downfall of society how much hate and rage game goes on. We must prayerfully clean up our act in love, and if you don't believe in God yet, just try and be nice to your fellow man because logically hate and love are like fires. But 100% serious, how do I get on a LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PRO TEAM practice squad? I'd make any pro team in the world better immediately from my build knowledge and player scouting, but I also play the game in a way no one does, my of meta becomes the new meta. I did this in Warcraft3, I literally change the entire face of the game.

Back in War3 days my Warcraft strategy articles shifted the entire meta. I'm banned on like every league of legends forum now though they begged me for new builds on em, RIOT has cover up bots running a conspiracy to keep loser q down. They push hate on top of lies.

I'm one of the greatest talent scouts of all time too. Thats how I got KaintheFeared and Crazyassassin on my War3 team and we went 200-0, never lost a game til they got tired of winning and started losing on purpose many times just to see if they could troll by winning with weird stuff.
I'm begging some people to get me on a pro team practice squad or some decent team, cuz straight up, I have a win trader cartel who targets me to lose on purpose, and I want some training above a master tier level.
