Today I was lucky enough to have a chat with ex brood war pro and current sc2 player Hydra. I was in Poitiers, France for the WCS. His bo 7 against Polt was pretty amazing.
Right between Hydra vs Showtime and Polt vs Bunny, I met Hydra who was coming back from the toilets I assume so I asked him a few questions. Here is our conversation. I dont' know if you will find it interesting.
Me : Congratulations for making it all the way to the finals.
Hydra : Thank you!
Me : are you confident about winning the tournament?
Hydra : Yes of course I am.
Me : I am in the audience and I must say you look a level above your opponents.
Hydra : yes indeed.
Me : I know that you used to be a brood war pro gamer. Do you miss the game?
Hydra : yes, sure I miss it.
Me : Do you follow the current brood war scene? SSL, KSL?
Hydra : Yes I do, and yes I watch them.
Me : Do you keep in touch with brood war players?
Hydra : Yes I do.
Me : Would you consider one day switching back to brood war (laugh) ; just like Effort did?
Hydra : (Laugh) haha no.
He had to leave so I just thanked him and he left.

Well darn Hydra. We'd really like if you -did- come back, but the real person we are all hoping for a bw comeback from is Flash.

I must say he looks really solid at sc2 right now. He was 3/1 against Polt. But Polt did an amazing come back and won 4/3

Sounds like he's on a roll right now so of course he won't come back just yet. Not until he's gotten to that point where he's played enough of the game and he's not gaining much from it (talking about traveling and new experiences).

Wow, you've been at finals and I'm distinctively jelaous. Oh, nevermind, I see it's about SC2 which is pretty shitty compared to BW. If it was that good game no any pros would switch back into their native game and BoxeR wouldn't go play to poker and NaDa won't retire. Of course with that amount of greens Hydra won't wanna switch back into BW. And what's that with LotV, 12 workers at start and decreased amount of minerals? Are we going to play 5 min. game? David Kim needs to stop using LSD's because he is ruining the best of RTS series.
