Note: stats in this paragraph calculated include all but offline leagues 10/09/28 -12/09/28 In the BW 1.0 Era Bisu’s stats prove only one weakness, PvP. In the two years from 2010 to his final game in 2012, Bisu boasted a record of 82% winrate in PvZ and 80% winrate in PvT. In this same time frame Flash had a 73% winrate in TvT and 79% winrate in TvZ. “Woah BisuDagger! I never knew that Bisu had a better winrate then Flash.” That’s right folks! But I left one matchup out. The matchup where both Flash and Bisu were worse at… vP. Flash had a respectable 65% winrate in that match up while Bisu had a dismal winrate of 62% .
That is a respectable group of protoss players to lose to. All having decent accomplishments if you remove Wooki from the list and Kal proving kryptonite to Bisu’s PvP. So why is it important to point out that Bisu has this horrible record against protoss players?
Bisu has never lost a finals to a protoss opponent!
Yes, of course this stat means absolutely nothing anymore. That was ages ago. Has Bisu lost his touch? His final two years he was performing 2% lower than his winrate in PvP which totals to 64% since his start. That’s a hard fact to face as a Bisu fan.
Living in the present:
Bisu has a group in one week. Two terrans and a protoss player. MSL history shows us this is the perfect group for Bisu. His trend is to lose one matchup and exit as the 2nd place finisher at this stage of the tournament. Some people immediately want to say this tournament is the successor of the OSL. Well fine! Let’s address that real fast. In the rare time where Bisu had only terran and protoss players in the group stages he made it to the Ro4 in the Batoo OSL. Only here did Bisu get met with the SKT curse. In every OSL for the past 5 years (SC2) included, SKT players have been forced to team kill each other in the Ro8/Ro4. It just so happened Bisu and Fantasy made a pact. Bisu would make it to the finals of MSLs and Fantasy would go the OSL finals. There they would dominate all(or at least try too(stupid Fantakong)).
So now let’s compare Bisu to his opponents in Group H:
vs 2 eyes > 4 eyes?
Bisu vs Ample – Dear god this should be the walkover Bisu needs. The easy win. If anything, Murphy’s Law needs to be renamed Bisu’s Law. “Anything that can happen, will happen”. My hairs stand a little taller then they should thinking about this matchup. But I think the clear winner is Bisu here. I was watching his stream just recently and he was 1v4ing on fastest map possible because his other teammates got wrecked. Bisu was reaver dropping on four opponents at the same time while defending the choke point to his main and microing his works from drops against him. I mean the only words to describe that was “holy f*cking sh*t!”
vs Is this a competition of Starcraft or who has the best hair???
Bisu vs Jaehoon – Given the state of Bisu’s PvP I’d say this match is more equal than their achievements. So let’s just hit these players up for head to head statistics. Bisu is 3-0 against Jaehoon from wins in ’08, ’09, and’11. So Bisu has the slight edge in knowing he’s never lost to this guy. As discussed earlier Bisu had a 64% winrate in PvP overall games which is slightly under a guarantee he will win two out of every three games. On the other hand Jaehoon has a 43% win rate against Protoss player. While he is a player that has really improved from the start of his career, if we go purely by statitics then Bisu gets the tip of the hat.
vs Is Bisu too beautiful for Sea to look at?
Bisu vs Sea – This clan kill among [shield] members couldn’t be more exciting. In 2009 Bisu and Sea met in the Batoo OSL. This series was a lopsided 2-0 victory for Bisu. In 201, Bisu and Sea went into their second and final multigame battler where Sea returned the favor and defeated Bisu 2-0. Since then Bisu is 4-0 with a 6-3 overall record against the mighty Sea. BW 1.0 is over! This is truly a time where we can disregard stats. The group of death with Flash, Jaedong, Bisu, and Sea no longer would show Sea as the weakest player in the group. Wrecking through SRT’s, Sea has become the best player in the world based on his 2013 performance. This fact is undisputed as he defeated Killer time after time in Flash vs Jaedong type fashion.
So we are all anticipating both these players to advance. Bisu proven through his 1.0 era performances and Sea based on his accolades of the 2013 2.0 era of Brood War. All of the bragging rights will come down to one game. One will advance, one will be forced to play a third set. Seeing as Bisu has seemed to solve the Terran conundrum his chances looks really good.
Bisu’s keys to beating Sea:
Don’t build carriers
If carriers are built, build one carrier to make Sea soil himself in excitement and then force him to play in his own crap filled pants while sticking to arbiters.
Don’t morph Templars into archons when they can be used to storm your opponent.
Scout hidden expansions
Use the autowin Stove build.
Sweet Revenge vs Beating a dead horse
DID YOU KNOW…. That the last individual league game played between Bisu and Sea was on the map circuit breaker. This also happens to be the map that Bisu and Sea will be playing on if they meet each other in the winners bracket of play (or losers). In case you missed that piece of history watch it now. The game was incredible as epic battles over the 6 o’clock base commence.
This is the moment where either Sea can prove that he was really young back then and has evolved into a much stronger terran or where Bisu can make his statement to the 2.0 era that he is still the best protoss player of all time. Either way, it will be terribly exciting and who couldn’t love Brood War more than in this moment!!!

I hope I just missed an obvious joke, Bisudagger fucking up Bisu's name would break my heart
Shin means god..
Having you been living in a shoe?!? ROFL
edited for history: When Bisu was winning all those MSLs everyone would yell Kim Taek Shin because his mortal name no longer compared to the great god that he was at the time. Bisu was god before it was cool.
2nd edit:

Bisu? Is he still relevant anymore? I predict Sea and Jaehoon to advance: Ample 0 - 2 Bisu Jaehoon 1 - 2 Sea Bisu 0 - 2 Sea Jaehoon 2 - 1 Ample Jaehoon 2 - 1 Bisu
Jaehoon wins 2-1 with a cheesy strat to break Bisu and his fans' hearts :O Watch Ample impress us all and advance first just cause XD BTW, very unbiased article, Bisudagger style
