THE EMPEROR has officially started his own stream on afreeca! hes not necessarily streaming starcraft only though (bw and sc2 i think), he intends to also stream other games and poker as well. his afreeca channel is sblyh119 for those who can watch afreeca. maybe snipealot can take a look and create a twitch stream or something later. get hyped.
also i didnt know where to put this thread but bw seemed most appropriate.

http://afreeca.com/sblyh119 i haven't seen any of the stream but judging by the description looks like hes streaming only poker. I'm not sure where the poster got info saying he's streaming starcraft.
edit: i'm watching highlight clips of his streams and he mentions later he will play vs terror and bisu but he needs time to practice.
edit 2: lol boxer is like revenge match requests are coming in like crazy says he needs practice time and he can't play atm because hes streaming for me2on and advertising their new mobile game
edit 3: Boxer says he's seen terror's performance at the sonic league group seed and that he's freakin ballsy and he would never be able to do something like that. Then he says like Terror is really good at starcraft and he wouldn't want to lose in front of like 10000 viewers. He mentions frequently that he needs practice because his skill level is not good atm And he's going to Macao for a poker tournament :O GO BOXER!!
edit 4: lol ppl keep telling him to beat terror and hes like "stop it! just because terror than me.. I'll practice and bunker rush him!"

sblyh119 = Slayers Boxer Lim Yo Hwan
Not sure about the numbers, all I know is it isn't his birthday like I originally suspected (unless his liquipedia page is wrong).

Hope he gets up to pace but tbh I don't think he will win most of his games without playing to his strength since BW players nowadays are leaps better than they were at his time(I think he mentioned that in an interview several years back as well).

How is the strength of the scene now compared to how it was 4 years ago when bw was still the main game in korea with osl/msl/proleague etc?

How is the strength of the scene now compared to how it was 4 years ago when bw was still the main game in korea with osl/msl/proleague etc? from what I understand, Boxer's strength was his planning for the matches. I remember this one game(TvT) where he built supply depots around the map and ended up boxing his opponent in then proxy'd a starport or something and eventually won the game with such as weird strat. His strength was never macro even though it was one of the best at his time. Players after his era(last several years of pro BW with MSL/OSL/PL) had top notch macro with amazing micro as well. I guess what I'm saying is that if he doesn't plan for his matches, I don't think he'll be able to keep up macro-wise against players on Afreeca.
As for the scene now compared to back then, I think players have become a lot better. Killer is on a roll, Sea's TvP seems to have improved(can't say by how much), other players on Afreeca have also improved and there's likely less stress from the Kespa environment (and PL) meaning that players can concentrate on individuals tournaments like SSL, etc... and possibly a greater drive to win. The scene has also improved after it slumped since BW ended. SSL/SRT as well as LoveTV's tourney and Sonic's team league have helped revitalize the scene again.
edit: not sure if I answered your question lol. Let me know if I haven't and I can expand on it

@BigFan i dont think anybody would expect him to keep up macrowise with top players like bisu..
he has retired a long long timeago and even before he retired it was obvious he didn ''fit in'' the modern era broodwar ruling playing styles ( NOT to speak less of boxer hellno.. genuiz tactics builds and micro) its just a wonderful exciting experience to see the legend play broodwar in some showmatch once again if he can be real competitiver yes or no is not really a subject im thinking here
edit: on and on a sidenote boxer is boxer you never know he could always take anyone down with a spark of godly micro or creative unorthodox play
|
+ Show Spoiler +Does that mean he eliminated from The Genius?
I hope im wrong but its pretty much confirms that :<
