Thanks for posting this. This game together with that impecable commentary is one of the best thing I've ever watched. You could see that even the commentators couldn't understand the strategy at first. But as the game progressed they slowly started putting the pieces together and began to realize how thoroughly planned it had been. Starcraft at its best.

It is more like, the maps got so big that they started becoming shenanigans resistant. I think there was some sort of Shakuras Map with no easy third where Boxer won a drawn out TvZ using an ancient 1 base full tech tree build. I'm sure that if you put him on some ridiculous old maps he would be quite competitive. Its not really so much that he peaked and hardcore slumped into irrelevance like Savior but the game literally passed him by. Besides, its just fun to watch old players pull of epic stuff:

Yes Boxer was an absolute god of Starcraft (and most people here saying he was really good didn't really witness it so they don't realize HOW FUCKING GOOD he was for his time) no he wouldn't be able to compete with the best players right now. He retired a long time ago.

It was very interesting watching Boxer's game at his prime, it's just that, some poster said before me, - the game itself outlived his skills. I like too look at it like on a time axis where first we have the Boxer Revolution, of showing people how to be creative and great with your units, and then there was the Nada Point which changed the game to very roughly what it stayed until today - macro, mulitasking and mechanics.
