Loaded up a blind test-game on this abomination of a map yesterday... took me a while to figure out how it even works.

It really combines a lot of unusual, inconvenient features:
- smol ramp
- not enough space in the main (for Terran/Protoss)
- 360° harrassable main by air and long-range
- no immediate ground access except for workers or by glitching, but lots of room for proxies
- wide open mineral only natural
- wide open gas semi-natural, but relatively far away by ground
- one could also mention that it's 3 player, so only one other free starting area, maybe meaning harder fight for a split map

Not saying that it won't be fun to figure out by myself how to play on that map but: As someone who didn't play BW back in the days when odd maps were more common, I'd really appreciate it if some Terran with more experience could do a quick elaboration on how you approach such a map, what principles/guidelines you have for a game plan early/mid/lategame. Should also be interesting for me from the Protoss/Zerg perspective.

The map came out around the same time as CB and there are plenty of VODs in TLPD.

So uh, I've been away for a while and I don't even know what the teams are, or who plays in them. I'm quite surprised to see that Broodwar has made a seeming resurgence. It's only been what, ten years since I played last? Something like that.

Hi,

There were several team leagues that were run in the last couple of years. The biggest two are Afreeca Team Battle (ATB) which ran for a single edition in 2017 and AfreecaTV Starcraft Team League (ASTL) which just finished up recently before the latest ASL. It's likely that we'll see several more editions of ASTL in the downtime of ASL. This was only possible since Afreeca made a deal with Blizzard (There were rumours that Blizzard was partially to blame for us losing ATB in 2017): (Wiki)

2020 AfreecaTV StarCraft Team League Season 1

Nowadays, it's all about ASL which is the premier BW tournament. If you haven't watched BW in the last couple of years, I would highly suggest watching some of the ASLs in past years. We've had quite the crazy series and stories so far. We can also link some good series if you don't want to watch that much.

As for remastered, there is a ladder and MM so as long as you buy it (think it was $15), you can just make an account on whatever server and queue up to play other players with similar MMRs. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Also, if you really didn't visit this site much in the last 10 years, check out the BW-streams on the right if you haven't already. Streaming BW on Afreeca has become big and is now one if not the major source of income for the players. Pretty much every pre-2011 pro (who isn't currently in the military like e.g. Jaedong) is streaming daily nowadays. That means you can watch the likes of Flash or Bisu and many more to your hearts content.

Also, about the teams, afaik they're more like temporary associations for the time of such a tournament, even if the players that form such a team probably have some sort of connection like being former members of the same Proleague-team. They probably also train together for such events, but it's not as hardcore as in the old days with teamhouses, contracts etc. (afaik)

Normally I don't like it when small kids are put on display like this on TV or internet... but gosh she's adorable ^^, they both are together.

And if I had Larva among my acquaintences I would definitelly hire him as a sitter. The man really knows how to handle a child well.
