Too bad community pooling / group investment / kickstarters are usually for a product or service, not an event, since events usually aren't ongoing and it's hard for people to see where the money goes to unless it's straight into a prize pool

It's kinda nice to see a tournament that Sziky isn't in, as I'm under the impression he's been treating everyone as if it were a comp stomp. A2 and Sziky. Why isn't this happening? What a tragedy. The guy beat jaedong. What's a kid got to do? advokate doesnt play at all, he probably read the original thread and thought if it was going to happen he might be interested to try. However, there were no updates and not very professional threads so he probably dropped out like most of the people are doing after the follow through. if there is some event, hopefully there will at least be some rep cast.

I won't question the motivations of the people involved in the past, instead I'm just gonna hope that the event itself goes off with out a hitch as much as possible, finish off what you started Eywa. Why are you sorry? Why aren't you questioning things? The premise that you should have unquestioning loyalty to anyone is asking to have your allegiance abused; and make no mistake, that's exactly what happened here. There won't be a LAN. To transport and house the number of people he is proposing to bring to this event, Eywa would need to raise an enormous sum of money single-handedly, which will almost certainly be impossible. To transport 2 North Americans to Europe and give them a 3-star hotel by air will cost around 3,000 - 4,000 US$ ![]() How much will it additionally cost to transport 14 Europeans by train and provide them with hotels? Let's say, somehow, someway, they only stayed for 2 days. Let's say we found an uber-cheap, rat-infested hotel that let people stay for 500 dollars a week. 14 x 500 = $7,000. Add that to the North Americans' transport and hotel costs, which we will cut in half to 1,500 to 2,000 dollars just to be ridiculously parsimonious. The bill is now $10,000 without counting the train tickets. On top of this, Eywa would have to provide a venue (which would probably be the cheapest item, but I'm not sure), food for these hungry people (eOn can eat 10 kilos of food per day), and this is just a minimalist estimate where everyone rides livestock boxcars, stay in horrible hotels that are run by cockroaches (they have taken over), eat nothing but boiled hotdogs and crackers, and plays in some cheap PC-Bang, none of which have SC:BW installed on them. It's a fiasco waiting to happen if, in fact, Eywa is so frickin' stubborn that he would rather spend 10,000+ dollars rather than admit he was wrong.

In China the entire BW scene is run by people doing shit just because it's something they like, financial situations and personal employment be damned.
