Then SK Planet season 1 had the rise of dear, shy, mini, turn (I guess turn was pretty good in '10-'11 as well though), and last (though he played plenty in '10-'11, he lost mainly). That's what brood war needed to me, as I still loved the game but was getting tired of the same LeeSsangRok dominance in 2010 and the like. Fresh blood to rise to start challenging TBLS + fantasy on a consistent basis (not like a best vs t briefly or something like that). Maybe I didn't pay attention to the newer blood in the '10-'11 season, but for the first time in a while I actually am getting hyped about the future of some of these players the way I did when I decided to root for fantasy in 2008. Some of their more creative/baller play (shy starting june 2011 with his baller 4 shuttle play on icarus vs iris, hallucinated recall vs sea), mini's shuttle + reavers recently, turn's aggression and bio build vs stats, last playing solid--even beating fantasy!--but also mixing in solid/pretty damn smart cheese vs baby, and dear being generally good and of course raping flash (analyzing to the point of predicting how flash would scan front of his natural with vulture timing). they'll never get the chance to really rise. At least not what I think they had the potential to (well, I think turn may have been stuck for any individual leagues as people would predict him, but then again kwanro made a finals). But the new blood deserves a run deep into the OSL, even if it costs the storyline of a resurgent jangbi or something. Because BW was not getting stale, it was growing even more as it always had. It wasn't stuck in just TBLS+fantasy, it had new young players ready to carry the torch for years. Mini for going to the finals. | ||
