Rofl, how does that format even make sense? Running a separate SC2 proleague in tandem with BW I can understand, but this mix is going to be fucking horrible. Can you imagine how pissed the BW notables are going to become when the ace match turns out to be SC2, to say the least?

I would be SO pissed as just a viewer. Such a waste of an epic deciding match between BW specialists. Forced to watch your favorite team lose because of SC2. Fuck I am getting so mad.

well... im at least happy there will be brood war, but when I thought about how this is actually going to play out, it seems the teams will be practicing both, but I imagine some people will be really good at sc2 who weren't great at bw and will focus on sc2 during practice, or the teams will get split up into bw/sc2 sections. Not sure why they would keep having mixed sc2/bw matches... seems really dumb to me and I don't see the appeal at all. The sc2 matches will just serve as a long potty/smoke break in between bw matches now. How long are sc2 matches usually? let's petition for smaller maps so their matches will be shorter rofl

that's a really good point. As much as I'm secretly hoping that this idea falls flat on its face, would they go back to regular bw tournaments if it failed? TT I'm going to cherish these last playoff matches even more now

It's not like BW is the only game that is being put up by OGN broadcasts, they have plenty of others and they still have time to play reruns. I don't think accomodating an additional game is going to be that much of a problem. I mean, consider the alternative mixed league which won't be very good just because of what it is...

Well, just by giving my brain some time, it come up with a reasonable explanation for this.

Remember how minor and newer music bands ofter get paired up with more famous ones during concerts? To give them a spotlight and some sort of jumpstart?

Imagine sc2 in the role of the unknown band, and bw = metallica. For korea atleast.

I can only hope it's a misinterpretation and that SC2 and BW proleague matches will be simultaeneous and not intertwined. For instance: SKT1 vs team 8 playign BW and SC2 at the same time, full BO7 ace match format for both, but they show game 1 BW game 2 of SC2 game 3 of BW ect.

two separate proleagues played simultaneously, broadcasted alternating. not ideal for viewers for sure, but certainly better than making 1 monstrous abomination of a proleague.

Ideally Kespa would cooperate with GOM in this and let GOM stream the non broadcasted match online. so BW fans could switch back and forth between GOM and OGN for their BW, and vice versa for SC2 fans. and people curious about both, or just straight up team loyal could watch all OGN, or watch OGN after their BW team 4-0'd the other and SC2 is going to game 7.

Way to attempt to cater to both markets and end up pleasing neither. It sounds like an insidious attempt by Blizzard to increase flagging SC2 popularity in Korea by forcing established BW fans to watch it in the hopes something will rub off.

If this idea truly comes to fruition (as is usually the case with all bad news BW related), then BW's last nail has truly been driven. So painful to see the ship sink in this way.

LOL that makes no sense at all. Ok, first set you guys are gonna play tennis. Then for the next point we play badminton. Yeeeeaa.... You're calling it speculation and I'm pretty sure that's all it is, cause this makes no sense whatsoever. Even for WHACKY esports, that's weird. "Today's matchup between SKT and KT... KT has a strong BW line up, but their SC2 is lacking, what will happen!" LOL yeah right...

If it's a "STARCRAFT PROLEAGUE" it's probably more like BW matchup first, and then SC2 right after... aka two different leagues, just side by side on the same day in the same studio. Not set for set, but match for match, makes way more sense (even it's still kinda lame).
