I debated grape+STX vs free/firebathero+ACE for a long time and opted for the former, which I regret now :p With regards to his game vs grape, I'm no PvP master so take it with a grain of salt, but to me it seemed like a pretty standard mirror where both players played well enough. Grape opted for a slightly more aggressive build to make up for the early manner pylons by adding an extra gate instead of robo but failed to convert it into a contain cuz free was smart enough to cancel his nat as soon as he saw him trying a contain, and went for the back expo instead. Game played out pretty standard afterwards IMO with both going robo and free getting a lucky break when his shuttle speed finished just as it was about to be intercepted. Grape did engage outside his nat prematurely and took on some unnecessary damage, then free gained an adv when he successfully dropped reavers and got like 5 probe kills and forced grape to pull probes. Game went downhill from there and free rode his adv to victory. There wasn't much Grape could do when he was contained by reaver-goon on a reverse ramp, and grape poked around to see if there was room for harassment but free was prepared by leaving goons and a reaver in his nat and main. Then again, I may have missed something hehe We'll see how free plays in a non-mirror match-up soon enough, since he is pretty much guaranteed a spot on the woongjin lineup xD

Better to choose someone who's not likely to come out every game than to put Free on Anti, though he's now more expensive than Kal who probably will miss the entire round due to training. Kal will what ? So I should have picked piano instead of kal ... what a bummer.

Should we be trading out our Airforce ACE main team and anti team players because of this? In my opinion, all of a sudden, mid-high priced players like Firebathero (6 points) will possibly be seeing less points overall because he's no longer going to be a "sure thing" to see in most matches: he might lose out in the random draw. On the other end of the spectrum, Rock (0 points) may very well see play and may even snipe a win or two (at the very least, get lineup appearance points) which already outweighs his cost. Here's a hypothetical situation. A team is down 2-1. They still have their ace player left, so they may decide to choose to send him out in the next set to try and even the score at 2-2 (assuming maps and matchups are decent, et cetera). For ACE, they've randomized it so that even if the best players got in the lineup, there's no sense of urgency in sending them out earlier or later. Firebathero, as an example again, if slated from the draw to go out at Set 5 wont get any points if they lose prior, and wont be sent out any earlier because other people is already 'locked' in those sets. As an aside, I think that this system of picking out match lineups - having the players pick out what they are most comfortable in, and having everyone have an equal opportunity to showcase their play. The only problem I'd have is if someone just kept losing out in terms of luck, and not being sent out at all. EDIT: The bolded part I was talking about is nestled in the spoilers for the quotes. It was just an excerpt from the ACE interview: >Firebathero: We each picked our favourite maps, then did a random draw. The entry does not reflect our internal rankings. In the next game, you may not see me or the other two beside me, but you can expect the same ferocity and power. > Piano: We're not kidding around here. > Ggaemo: You can forget about the Airforce Ace you knew before.

nah before the games were played i made sure to keep old powerhouses like effort and free far away from my anti team hehe :p If anything I think free is cheap at 4 for being Woongjin's protoss ace, but then again 278 BW fans strongly disagree with me haha

Wow, thanks for pointing this out, I missed this. I can't believe that they would send players just by complete random choice. This means I'll be trading fbh and piano for other players soon; at least they got me the points now ![]()

If Light and Soulkey are both worth 6 points, how do you trade them for each other? Is it a rule that you can only trade players for other players of lesser value? Do the points value for players change as the season goes on?

They do at the moment, but I believe once the points have been calculated, they will change - players who have recorded wins will trade at a higher price. Also, in previous FPL seasons, players on teams with fewer sets remaining will be worth less, as their potential to earn points is diminished.

Light is solid overall and has great vZ. Soulkey though is one of the two or three best zergs right now. He was very strong last season and already has a win this season. I honestly don't have any idea why SK is a 6pt player; that really is such a steal its not even funny.
