Yes, there are tactical experience (which I guess is more important because from MLG I gander single engagement can be the game-decider) but those come over time.

Also I knew BW trolls were going to flame SC2 and take away our already rather debatable "moral superiority", heh.

Mechanics might not, but multi-tasking has huge significance. There is a skill ceiling on macro in SC2, but not micro while multi-tasking. Bisu's ability in that regard, for example, is unparalleled. Some guys like Best might not be as successful in SC2 purely due to playstyle, but guys like Bisu would excel, even without the requisite strategic insight, purely from the fact that he's essentially an "MMA on crack."

Bah, got sucked into this debate again. Oh well. -_-

Honestly due the higher APM skill cap on Terran (Marine splitting, etc) and the entire way the race works in SC2 (in a lot of ways Terran in SC2 is more like Protoss from Brood War), I think Bisu would be better at Terran.

Probably already mentioned, but it's possible Blizzard invites them to play BW but want to show them how well received SC2 is among foreigners probably fueling interest since korean BW sites will probably follow the event and the players they are inviting are very influental. Either way us spectators can't lose in this scenario. Very excited.

Meh, now that this thread got front page, the sc2 kids are gonna come here and troll all day.

You realise your post is a massive troll within itself and is basically worse than anything us "SC2 kids" are saying. But thanks for being condescending and elitist

I have a feeling Blizzcon fans are going to nuts for these guys; BW showmatches (or SC2) between these players would be incredible to watch; now only to Blizzcon to Australia somehow..

But you don't need that one either, the tournament stream is free.

i hope they will play starcraft 2 showmatches that would be great to see how their mechanics will work in sc2

Mechanics can't be applied if you don't know all the hotkeys, optimal groupings, and just general experience with the game's interface. They've got to be there to play SC:BW matches, which will be amazing. Everyone saw the failure of Boxer vs. YellOw when GomTV had a showmatch right after YellOw started playing SC2.

Basically, I think the main goal is to get more Koreans interested in SC2 by incorporating BW showmatches into the scheme, which is possibly the only way to improve Korean interest at this point as it seems to have hit a plateau.

I think so too. Terran units are strong by themselves, and don't scale as well as P units in large armies.

Either way, it won't be the macro mechanics that sets top BW pros apart, but like what I noted previously, it will be the multi-tasking and micro - both of which have no skill-ceiling in SC2. The future of SC2 will be 'how many areas at once can I micro simultaneously, while keeping up with basic solid macro at home' (which any top SC2 pro can do right now).

No more of these one huge blob a-moving against another huge blob type games...I hope.

@To all people who replied
Yes, but the point is that some people might not just get it. Last thing I want is for some people to get exorbitant expectations then cry out TLBS sucks. On retrospect, I guess I really shouldn't bother with such individuals though.

they are probably paid to be there to promote sc2. i mean why not with sc2 getting more popular every day its about time for these pros to switch even.

kinda like valve paying pros to play dota2 and csgo.

Wow, this almost makes me want to go there. I remember the old BWWI's with Kang Min and crew, i really hope they get the recognition they deserve!

With WCG no longer carrying BW (Flash vs JD last year was a worthy end to it though), this carries more weight than most might think, it's one of the few exposures BW stars have to the foreign community.

There's no reason they can't play both. If you're going to fly four people over you probably want value out of them.

Maybe even SC2BW.
