Gotta believe both of those teams are dead for good. If they couldn't find a sponsor to take over ESTRO or Hite last year, it's very unlikely they're going to be able to do it this year.
Hite is different. Operating rights of Hite belonged to OGN which is owned by OnMedia. CJ has a controlling stake in OnMedia. So basically Hite went back to its parent company.
Thanks for the clarification. You know your stuff. Still was a cutback in CJ's advertising dollars though.

Yep. Hite lost half their team in the match-fixing scandal so there was just no way they could continue. I do like this CJ team more than the previous one (thanks Leta and Horangie) but I will be very sad if they don't find any new sponsors this time round.
Speculation from the article: It's not possible for all 40 progamers from these 3 teams to be drafted into the remaining 6 teams (excluding ACE). However, if a new team is formed, most players will be able to retain their jobs and we can have 8 teams in the PL this coming season. There are only 8 teams in Korea's professional baseball league so this is not unusual and might actually help in making the league more efficient (some of these teams have been ill-managed).
But wait for a confirmation from either DES or Fomos first.

Has the possibility of some B-teams being elevated to Proleague been suggested at all, rumors, mentioned?

What do you mean by B-teams being elevated to Proleague?

Like the SKT or CJ or Woongjin (i think those are the ones that are doing well) Dream league lineups entering proleague as separate teams to the A-team.

A team combination of Mbc,fox,oz will be one hell of a firepower team >< and Its quite scary because mbc players has really good protoss line , fox terran , oz has jaedong and the killer . Having quality greater quantity in my opinion .
In all honesty I hope its Oz because then JD will go to a team where he would have better teammates and I think it would help him resurge as a player. Sad to see another team go down though.
^ Well, if it's any consolation, I can tell you that there will very likely be more seasons of PL. Kespa are holding a rookie draft tomorrow. This time only 14-15 players will be participating, since they're expecting there to be at least one draft of the disbanded teams. Kespa are also holding another progamer education seminar on 6th September, so yeah, PL will probably carry on.

That's good news ryo ^^ hope this bring more new blood in to the pl scene .
I wish the news would just come out so I can move on instead of sitting here, the waiting is killing me (talk about mental anguish). If Oz/Fox/MBC merged together, like Sawamura said, it would be quite a powerhouse and a serious contender for SPL championship. But at the same time, while we still maintain one team it would mean that a lot of b-teamers/practice partners and possibly under performing players will be let go, and that saddens me. Especially the B-teamers/practice partners, they never got a shot on the Live stage

I though OZ+ another team would be really imbalanced, but then I thought about it: SKT is already really imbalanced, and KT beat them, so they are also really imbalanced. CJ was doing well, but effort is coming back (who is supposedly going to be the best player on the team) so they are going to be really imbalanced.
It's like if PL was a building, and you just threw imbalanced teams at it until it fell over, but because the building is now on it's side, it is now even more balanced.
I hope that made sense... Either that, or the BW gods were displeased with ace winning too many games and now wants to make all the other teams better so that the are super bad again.
oh god no. please. Oz was really starting to show some real promise for next year, with Killer coming into his own and Shy showing potential. I really have come to love Hwaseung Oz as a team, even with their rather quirky makeup with Jaedong and many others who try hard to pull out wins; I can't bear the thought of them disbanding.
