Keep any SC2 vs BW comments out of this thread. This is a thread about Brood War and Esports (Tekken Crash, Special Forces, etc) in general. If you discuss what this means for ESPORTS be sensitive about it. |

What a terrible blow to esports. That's true, now I feel like my response to that post was rather selfish.

This is a very sad day for me. . I love BW and MBCGame shutting down cannot be good news.

Now is the time for eSports to be strong. BW and SC2 fans must unite to save eSports. Come, join the dark side. We have cookies :D

I was going to write an angry post filling up the entire scene telling you to go fuck yourself. Then I realized that this scene doesn't mean all that much to you, and this was your way of easing some people into what you see as a natural transition.
Well, have you ever considered that it may be unwise to mention such things to those who don't want to "move on"? What about the high level commentary of those whose ten year experience is about to go to dust? It's not some show that's going off the air, it's an entire broadcasting station that's about to be shut down. Do you even have any idea of the magnitude involved with this entire fucked up situation before throwing around cute words like eSports? You think the moment the scene takes a huge hit like this I'm suddenly going to fall in love with the idea of watching some amateur that couldn' cut it in the real deal streaming some ladder games in his appartment playing a game that I couldn't care less for?
I'm sorry, I think showing some fucking respect and restraint will be much appreciated by the likes of me who is fucking pissed off and worried as hell, as opposed to this happy-as-can-be attitude you're showing right now in the face of grave times.

Awaiting more news... The discussion of moving channels for BW at least is hopeful, but it's still a huge decision for everything else involved with MBCGame...

Rofl, yeah everyone is pissed about this news. If you are new to the BW scene or have "SC2" in your name, you better word your post carefully or you'll get flamed.

This Sc2 vs BW thing is unnecessary.
I have known about BW scene through TL after I got interested in SC2. I watch both games, and like both. I watched some BW matches live the other day and asked some questions on thread and no one bashed me for watching SC2 or something. Starcraft is Starcraft, BW or WoL. Both are great games, both have their good and bad parts. This channel closing is a hit to the scene, and is sad. I hope it doesn't happen. I still need time to get into BW scene and watch more games.
Starcraft (BW or SC2) fighting!

It's not SC2 vs BW.
We are arguing that the SC2 players don't understand the gravity of this situation.

please (sc2) guys, its not only MSL and BW related, its all of MBCGame and that includes the god damn Tekken Crash. i'm fcking crushed by this
last mlg didn't have tekken, and now this news...i'm such a sad panda.

Understand this: if any of us care about SC2, they already follow it. Those who don't, won't suddenly start to like SC2. I do not give a shit about "esports", I care about BW. How hard is that to understand?

Blizzard gave rights to GOM for BW right? So if GOM wants to they could have another broadcaster take over something similar to MSL right? and PL and WL are also cast on seperate channels? Sorry I don't know I only ever watched vids and streams on TL
EDIT: Isn't this also bad for esports in general if one of the most success tournaments shuts down?
I'm also kinda confused video games now gross more in income than television + music + movies combined (in Canada and US anyhow) so why are they not focusing on that?

Muta micro, vulture micro, reaver dropship micro, rines vs lurker micro, hydras vs storms, all while macroing.
I hope I will not have to miss watching pros do these things.
Im gonna go play some bw.

Has nothing to do with rights (that was last year when blizzard sued Kespa). MBC's new management don't see MBCgame as profitable, or that Kpop is more profitable. Also, GOM isnt a cable channel but just an internet TV streamer.
Going from cable TV to Gom would be like moving from a penthouse to the poorhouses.

That post you responded to was good natured and positive but you responded to it like that dude just insulted your mother. Here's a dose of reality: people that didn't play BW probably don't care that much about this situation. No one owes it to you to care as much as you do and talk about it like its a big tragedy. In the grand scheme its just a damn game, its not like people cheering in the streets during 9/11. People can see the positives in this, if they want to.

You mean other than the fact that the mod note up there says to be sensitive about it? It might not be your responsibility, but it is, you know, considerate to at least take our "extreme sensitivities" into account. Since when was being a considerate human being bad?
Edit: Especially in a thread like this. You were forewarned not to bring SC2 into this and provoke people by that little mod note up there.

Then it begs the question why they bother to come to this thread and post in it?

Indeed, but it's also not the place to be trying to convert people to SC2 maybe? I mean common sense people, there is a mod note at the top specifically telling people to be sensitive.

You don't owe me a goddamn thing, but if you're going out of your way to cheer in my face when I've made it clear that I'm upset over this situation, then I'll promptly respond by telling you to go fuck yourself. No one is forcing you to give a rat's ass, but do you take joy in being a dick, or are you just too stupid to understand that when you post here, expressing your giddiness over this news will most likely be replied with hostility?
