hmm i dunno about apm.. i think faster paced music will be higher apm, but a lot of people like to win games instead of playing to see a certain number in a 3rd party program. i still think the mind works best when it's calm. if you want to be a fast starcraft player (ie low reaction times, smooth macro, good multi-tasking) it's much more an exercise of the mind than it is the hands.

it's not like people think to themselves "ok my shuttle will be in place for the storm drop in 10 seconds, my gateways will be ready for another round of units about 5 seconds after i storm (btw, what's his and mine unit composition atm?), i thought i spotted some dropships going to my island so i better be ready to react if they do come in about 10 seconds, i should probably think about expanding again soon, and i gotta set up flank on his push, when's a good time to switch to carrier?" and then they dont have the handspeed to accomplish all that.. more likely people cant think about that many things at once cuz they're caught up in one thing (probably the storm drop in this case).. and then they forget to do shit, and dont even notice other things.. carriers come at wrong time, units get caught in a choke, shuttle flies into turrets, island nexus dies without even being noticed.. did they think that hitting 123123123 units was gonna accomplish anything?

Usually I don't listen to music while playing SC, but maybe I will try it.
In that case I would mainly be listening to hardcore, like Madball, Sick of it all or anything fast and hard that makes me want to crack some random noobs head wide open.
