What? Even an ultra conservative mutual fund would see him get returns in 6 figures lol.

You have to have way more than that to live comfortably for the rest of your life especially if you start a family. I'm sure though that Flash's kids won't go starving

He'll have a comfy life, but he'll have to work some sort of job in the future; but that won't really be a problem. He could do numerous things in 10+ years when he's done professionally gaming. He could become a coach, a caster, a manager, anything.

Edit: nvm interest since Flash has given his money to his parent to manage he prolly already has a bunch of investment properties or something.

I heard that in Korea you don't pay rent, but have to deposit the the entire price of the apartment/house in a special account at the bank. The owner of the house/apartment then lives off the interest that they gain from the deposit.

Rich people tend to have a higher expenditure rate than others so a mil bucks might not last very long. After he retires, who knows what expensive hobbies/interests he'll pick up (if any).
I personally could live off 1 mil for the rest of my life but I'm a real miser when it comes to money. I'm sure he'll spend it wisely though since he has his parents looking after the funds.

in 2 or 3 years he will have banked way more than 1 mio...

That's never the case with successful people. They are successful because they love dedicating themselves to mastery of their craft.

Flash himself stated several times he wants to become a teacher

this thread would be 50x better if the 'p' in 'paid' was an 'L' instead.

Seconded, but honestly if Flash's parents were smart about his money, he probably won't have to work after retiring, but still will. He's not the kind of person that can sit around and not be a great person.

Uhh you do pay rent in Korea. You pay a huge security deposit to the Apartment owner, and then you pay rent as well. How I know? I live in Korea and have seen this set up several times before.

Speaking of which, there was a girl who sits with Flash's father and mother.
Is she Flash's sister or cousin or girlfriend?
To be honest, she looks pretty good and does not resemble Flash.
Q: What’s your salary? -The income includes prize money from the leagues. On the low side, it’s about 250000000 won, and it can get up to 400000000 won on the high side. Last year I got about 300000000 won.
Interview conducted on April 1st, 2010, Shindonga Magazine.
Though this was before he went on his monster rampage..:D
That's MAJOR cash. And that was before he went on the rampage? I remember reading the interview before, but couldn't recall the actual numbers.
But prior to his rampage, Flash only scored one OSL, which was enough to boost his income to 300m-400m won?
By now, he has earned FIVE additional titles, each worth 50m won. He also was the driving force that pushed KT to WL trophy and PL Grand Final trophy. Thus, KT will be sure to give Flash a very hefty raise to base salary in addition to insane bonuses.
He must be hitting half a million U.S. per year by now.
