id hardly call it some pain since hes getting needles for it =/ the word 'incurable' doesnt really inspire confidence
bisus playing very good starcraft atm and he is already one of the greatests ever. he should be very proud of himself, i dont consider his awesome streak in proleague 'nothing'

The big difference is that Bisu can actually take a break because they have Fantasy to do something about it. Fantasy in important games is probably the most dangerous player out there. You get Jaedong or Flash to take any sort of a break and the whole team collapses and they know that so they keep on playing despite any physical problems.
I wouldn't be surprised if he just takes a really long break after Proleague, there's only one round left and if they can't reach 2nd or 1st they'll just do what they did last year and ride the momentum.

For all the Flash haters that followed after disciple, you guys hate flash? great, you don't need to shit all over this thread. He didn't say anything BM in his interview. He has never, not once excused his losses on his wrists. I don't even know where these latest arguments come from, like him being bm because he smiles when he loses or that flash is dumb for praising his friends JD and Zero.. When one of the leading stars in any sport has a serious illness/condition, he will get asked about it, and often because its important. He shouldn't have to lie about it so his antifans can be happier. I was actually dumbfounded by the level of some of the comments in this thread. Fucking bravo. Took the words right out of my mind.

i'd hate to see flash be turned into a what if story if his wrists get to a point where he is not able to compete anymore. he really should take a long break and let his wrists relieve the stress hes been putting on them. better that he can have a chance to continue his career than push himself for just one more season and be forced to call it quits. (unless hes been planning to go back to school and change his life path or something or the other)

What if stories generally involves a promising youngster cut down before achieving what was obviously his for the taking...I think flash has already taken enough titles to exclude him from a what if story. I mean...the only way to make flash more successful in a season is to make a new tournament for him to sweep a season more dominantly than 2010

Q 上一场半决赛jaedong出局你是否遗憾 Q in the first semifinal group Jaedong lost, do you regret that? A I feel a bit uncomfortable with it. I can't really express it with words. The Jaedong-hyun that I wished to meet in the finals has lost, the feeling is just as bad as if I had lost personally. Jaedong-hyun is an excellent progamer, I believe that one day he will definately make the finals again.
This is spoken like a true champion imo. Flash is growing up to become a very mature competitor.

I don't see how anyone can say Flash is arrogant, he always come off as so humble and mature in his interviews. He is a true superstar and I know I will be cheering for him in the finals.

Does anyone even know what Flash's condition is? Why is everyone jumping to conclusions about retirement?

I practice under a flexible schedule because of my hands, I rest when I need to. During the stove league I am planning on getting ample rest."
I'm not sure what the 'stove league' is? any ideas? Stove period = off-season.

Thank you. Spot on. Anybody with some sense / rationale should and would agree with you. I'm quite disappointed by Disciple's rant. It was really over the line and unnecessary... If you're not a flash fan and don't like him much, SHUT UP! Just don't abuse your Red status...

look, on a more serious note. I just re-read all my rants from yesterday. At no point of them I havent said anything offensive or insulted Flash as a person or as a player in any way. Its distasteful to make jokes about one's health issues and at no point in my posts I said he is faking, or made fun of his condition (aside from the dumbledore photoshop which had to be made).
My point is that Flash is selling intentionally or not the whole situation bad imho. Just because he a honest kid telling the truth he shared his concerns about his health, a topic which is related to everyone in the scene, not only his fans. Maybe he does put inhuman effort to be on top of his game given the situation, but adding so much drama to his condition, and constantly pointing out he feels handicapped in his practice time or ingame because of this, makes his competitors look really weak, given his ever dominant record, despite the fact he dropped from the starleagues last season. Maybe he is not doing that by intention but thats the by product of his statements. And given the fact Flash became really cocky in the recent seasons (Saying he cant possibly be beaten in MSL, or when asked what he thinks about the other 7 MSL champions in the group selection he replied with "Huh?") I just dont like the fact he is talking so much about it, making all his fans worry about his condition when he is hands down the best player in the world and his play isnt really showing any signs of a health problem.
Someone said if it was bisu, I would've reacted in the same way. Well 2 years ago Bisu constantly complained about map balance, despite being a beast in PL. Anti-fans made fun of all his complains. Ofc both issues are of a completely different nature, but just like in the case with Bisu, I had enough of flash QQing about his wrist after 3-0ing his opponents.
In any case I do wish his wrist heals as fast as possible so that his fans are not as concerned about his health and so he could focus completely on the game.
I understand the issue is quite sensitive for everyone, especially for his fans who got so easily offended by my controversial posts. Ppl overracted to my rant and it all became quite emotional and out of line. I do apologize for sparking such a flame fest. But I do stand by my words and even thou the way I worded myself was provocative some of the reactions I got were premature as well. Especially about me abusing my status here.
I will make it up for you all by making some wonderful gfx for the MSL finals, which would make even the heart of flash himself warm

Kudos.

I'm a casual neutral party here, and I think you have a point when you say Flash is somehow milking this issue. Flash fans are just emotional about it, so don't mind them.

But you still don't get it. Flash never said or even hinted at things you accused him of. What he says is "Yes, I have problems with my wrist, it hurts a lot, but despite it I'm putting everything in incoming matches"...just look at this:
Flash - I really practiced until I was going to go crazy, so my arm hurts a lot right now. But every time I thought of the fans and remembered how I was knocked out early in the last tournament. I really practiced like my arm was going to break, and I'll practice even harder for the finals. He isn't saying he cannot practice properly because of the hand...he says quite the opposite, that he practice like crazy despite of it! How the fuck can anybody think he is disrespecting his opponents when he says things like that?
Your interpretation of the interview is exactly that - only your (and other antifans) interpretation. Not what Flash said, not what Flash meant, not what almost everybody else understand.
Flash fans are annoyed because you (and others) are literally putting things into his mouth, things he didn't say. Here is something he actually said, after last season individual leagues fiasco
- Does your arm pain have anything to do with your dropping out of both leagues? ▲ No, that’s not true. Though it had been hurting for a while, right now it’s almost a relief I only have proleague to practice for. I’ll work on taking care of my health so I can show a better side of myself.
He has never blamed his performance on his hand. What he wants to say, what almost everybody here understands, is that despite health problems, he is putting everything into his matches. He wants to consolide his fans without outright lying to them.
And here comes the big revelation. Flash makes this interview for his fans! Suprising, eh? He shouldn't give a fuck which twisted meaning his haters try to find in it. He wants to reach to his fans, tell them how he feels, which difficulties he has and how he copes with them. I got the message and I'm sure many other did too. It's only your problem that you see there things which aren't true.
