i really think stork needs to slow down anyways, it was a good thing for his team to give him a break for a day. with all his tournaments and such he rarely might have time to just take a breather. give him that at least. too much events can lead to stress, which can lead to him not paying so well. so if you love stork, let him have a day off

I think some people here discount just how heavily fan opinion plays on the mentality of players in Korea. I honestly think that the backlash that Stork took from his alleged "hypocrisy" threw him off his game in both leagues. Stork isn't a prepared, methodical type of player; he thrives off of momentum, natural ability and fan support. He knows he's the most popular player, and this is what gives him the strength to topple top players due to the confidence this brings. When his popularity is legitimately challenged, it doesn't surprise me to see his actual performance drop off sharply. Progamers know just how fickle Korean fans are (i.e. super fucking fickle).

For all their "professionalism", you have to remember that most of these guys are still in their teens. Image and reputation obviously affect them far more than they would an average athlete in his 20s or 30s. It's not fair to assume that they can just ignore the image they project to the public. Look at how Perfectman's momentum completely disappeared after the fan reaction to the "tongue incident".

Knowing all this, January seriously blundered in holding Stork back from the bench (assuming that Stork didn't want this himself).
