On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer

hehe =) I think StarCraft will be too old in 2008 (don't hurt me please)... hopefully they will have realeased a kiXXor SC2 or if they don't, hopefully they will avoid thinking "no one wants to watch these ugly graphics" and recognise BW as a game =)

Big question is not if but when it will happen... 2008 might be to close but lets say 2016, by then I hope E-sports will be really big. Also, something to think about, should it be a summer olympics game or winter olympics I vote for winter :D

the idea has been around since china got chosen as the land holding the olympics in 2008. china's government is already supporting e-sports with money just like all the other sports and every country who's holding the olympics has the right to chose one additional discipline (seoul 88 was tae kwon do for example). so maybe the intend to get a couple more gold medals which they still need to claim #1 by chosing a sport where the only competitor would be korea. =)

Not all the E-games...Starcraft, sure.
Thats like makin a soldier drop his weapon, shootin him, then tellin him to get to steppin. Obviously, they came to portion up his fortune. Sounds to me like that ol ROBBERY/EXTORTION.

Korea would only own in Sc, Wc, Lineage, and they have a chance at CS:CZ, Since Maven/Architect and a few other teams are really good but they are on par or lower than the good Swedish and American teams [ Are there good american teams? Not to insult, I just don't follow CS that closely, I know about Swedes though. ]

But yeah, you're right, it would be almost all kill for Korea unless they included Halo which I doubt international players would participate. Seriously America needs to get rid of their ' FPS only ' reputation.

And America only owns in track and field because of so many ethnicities living in one nation - _-v

If you think about it, we aren't even really a ' country ' represented by one peoples, just an assortment of people's so a large pool of talent to choose from.

no offense, but i think its a dumb ideal because playing video games shouldnt be part of the olympics. its a world class event, and as much as i love sc, i dont think its physical nor athetic. they might as well put paintball etc. also the general public dont no shi3t about sc to even consider it an event or other video games. lol can u imagine some guy playing fifa 2008 while he can go watch real soccer?

It doesn't have to be physical or athletic to be olympic. People don't give a damn about 90% of the olympic disciplines, so that's no reason either. And yes, I can imagine someone, rather playing a video game, than playing the real thing.
