It's my first time doing an interview, and I didn't know if it was my place to translate an interview, but seeing that it was the Hwang-shin, I couldn't help it >< Please tell me if there is any problem with me doing this interview.
The winner is... Air Force ACE! 2 GAME WINNING STREAK FUCK YEAH
YellOw - Hong Jin Ho 홍진호 "I hope my successors won't forget that they are a part of ACE"
(T/N: "Successor" in this interview means the younger members of ACE, aka the players/soldiers that are below Yellow in rank.)
- You won your final game before being discharged from ACE. ▲ I am extremely happy, even more so because it's my first win in such a long time. And I feel like my happiness is doubled because my team won as well.
- Your win was related to the number 2 again. ▲ I can't help it (laughs). Even though I think that it's ridiculous, when I see the number 2 fulfill itself, I secretly hope that there will be more connections with me and the number in the future.
- You were in a tough spot with Midas's 8 rax strategy. ▲ I didn't think Midas would 8 rax, because I practice with him often so I thought he wouldn't do it on me, but when he 8 rax'ed followed by a bunker rush, it surprised me. But I played as hard as I could, thinking about how much it would suck if I lost my last game.
- How was your life in the Air Force? ▲ When I first entered ACE, I didn't have such a heavy heart, nor did I feel such responsibility. I originally just wanted to play more games, but after living in an organized fashion for so long, I realized how important and significant of a place ACE is. While we didn't always have the best scores, all the players wanted victory more than anyone else, and practiced incredibly hard. The personnel at ACE helped me greatly, so I practiced more, thinking that with a few more wins, we could become a team to be reckoned with. I tried my best not only for myself, but for the team, and it disappoints me because the results leave a lot to be desired. But I feel like the mood in the team has improved a lot, so I'm satisfied in that regard.
- Looking back on your time at ACE... ▲ I'm proud of my time here. It was a precious time where I learned a great deal. Of course, if you make me enter the military again, I'd politely refuse (laughs). Because it was the military, after all, there were difficult times, but there is no doubt that the time spent in ACE had an impact on me.
- Your games were always hyped and noticed more than others. ▲ Because I had lost so much before I entered ACE, I first had the mindset that I could play much more relaxedly in ACE. However, once I enlisted, the desire for victory was even greater here. So I played every game like it was a final in a tournament. I think I was noticed more because I beat a lot of S-class players. Also, I probably was noticed more because I won when there wasn't a lot else going on in the scene. I think it was the biggest issue when I best Bisu. I think it sticks in people's memory more because it was my first win, and I came back from a sticky situation. Even I get touched when I watch that game again (laughs).
- Are you going to keep your style even after being discharged? ▲ Before I enlisted, I wrote a lot of things on my notepad. It was to give my style a little change, because I had played in the same manner for 10 years. Of course, I didn't want to abandon my style, merely adapt a bit more to the current trends. But it wasn't as easy as I thought (laughs). I think it would be difficult to change my style, even after being discharged
- Any words to your successors? ▲ I laughed a lot during my last days at ACE because my successors were treating me so well. So I thank them for that. GoRush became captain recently, and I feel like his stubbornness helped him a lot. XellOs doesn't show it on the outside, but he's the best supporter on the inside of the team. I thank him a lot for the effort that he puts in for the good of the team, putting aside his own benefits. I think RuBy would be golden if he just performs as well as he is doing now, and I don't worry about Much because he is old enough to take care of himself. The successors below them have less experience, so I hope that they will try their best to adapt to the new environment. Regular Air Force soldiers look at us a lot as a source of inspiration - I hope all the players won't forget that.
- Your rival, BoxeR, moved to SC2 ▲ It's a shame. It leaves a big void in my heart. Not only Boxer, but a lot of the older gamers have disappeared. I feel lonely with all these oldgamers going away. I support Boxer's decision, but I can't help but be disappointed. (T/N: No hinting lost in translation here - it sounded pretty clear that he had no intention of moving to SC2)
- Final words? ▲ I thank the fans, who have kept with me for two years despite poor results. Also, I want to send a big thanks to the Director of the unit of Air Force ACE. Finally, "Air Force ACE Fighting!"

EDIT: guess they're not interviewing the others winners - FBH, ggaemo, Ruby
I love Yellow, and him staying with the game I love as well makes me feel like that love is appreciated. Thanks for the amazing upsets you had in the army, and I hope to see more of you!
I think many players that reached the diamond in SC2 will move to SC as it is more challenging and gives them the desired skill growth they can't get in SC2 ^_^
God damn it, I missed Yellow's game because I was at school... Saw all the other games, though. I liked it, except for Cloud's mistake which cost him a game he could easily have won. It was his last retirement match, too. How sad =( I really feel sorry for him.
BUT EVEN WORSE, I MISSED THE STORM ZERGS LAST GAME!!!! FFS!!!!!
I never really understood why Yellow was used so sparingly in the last year and a bit. The team always seemed to do well when he played, and I imagine that he could have contributed to some more victories this season. But maybe he was content with playing a support role. In any event, the team has only gotten stronger.

LOL! The first words are the most sincere ones (instant reaction)! :D Just see that the truth the SC progamer thinks about moving to SC2 is "It's a shame"... Just amazing
Why he doesn't qualify in the individuals? T_T With that mediocre lineup of it, he could even finally win the Starleague (if he was lucky and hadn't to play Flash, as he showed the capability of beating Jaedong already)

zzzzz u dont read ? sc2 = deception -___-
And what do u mean by I don't read. I don't understand your post.
From what I can understand out of Yellow's answer was that he says it's a shame to see Boxer and other older progamers moving thus giving the impression he isn't planning on moving on to sc2 just yet which I commented with

So I fail to understand your comment on that so explain to me please.
Sc2 = deception ? If u mean it's less exciting as BW that's an opinion on the person but I would also say BW is more exciting. But just in case I'm assuming wrong things explain to me what you mean by your post.

It doesn't literally mean it's a shame, it's more a figure of speech which describes an oppurtunity lost. An example, "Is Jenny coming to meet us at the cinema today?, "No, "That's a shame"
Thanks for the interview, good interview, can't wait to read the others. I'm really glad to read that Yellow still has that fire in him to win. And I'm glad his last game against Midas. I hope he brings that fire/passion back to KT where he'll get more play time.
Kind of a blow to Ace losing Yellow, I hope they continue to win though.
I put it up cause I had it, don't normally get the interviews (or at least I don't notice if I do). If any one wants to add subtitles directly to the video please pm me as that would be really interesting.

He will. He'll also get lots of airtime imo, considering KT's zerg lineup is HoeJJa, Action and RoO atm, and non of them are doing very well. RoO is an amateur still, has potential, Action is slumping (alongside Violet and ForGG) and HoeJJa... well, alas poor yorick. Maybe YellOw would want to become the new zerg coach and whip them into shape? :3

hopefully HoeJJa enlists in the army and ends up being neo-ggaemo.
cmon KT if your gonna be last, at least send Reach and Yellow at some point during this PL season!
Every KT fan eagerly awaits Yellow's return. Flash/Reach/Yellow lineup...can it get any better? Thanks for the translation, always fun to read his interviews.
Yellow has already overtaken Boxer in term of skills. I can't wait for Yellow on KT, I would LOVE them to send in Reach and Yellow together, I am pretty sure that Flash can give Yellow a run to rework his ZvT and then next SL would be Yellow and Reach both qualify with Yellow and Reach in the finals for BOTH OSL and MSL and Yellow taking the OSL while Reach take another one! Boy I can sure dream!

It could get better... If nal_ra was added to that lineup. I can dream, can't I?

It would be even more awesome if Reach took first place in both with Yellow coming in 2nd at both. You know, for nostalgic reasons...
i dont know. i wish Yellow would actually win at least ONE gold. Would prolly see the most tear filled happy totally bonkers celebration when that happen, especially an OSL gold.
On December 08 2010 14:45 Renkaoru wrote: Who needs Boxer when we have Yellow in BW?
We need Yellow to do a deep OSL/MSL run in the next season. The E-Sports scene will explode.
True, they should just let him make a run without going through qualifers, just for the esports sake Btw Im so changing back to KTF with Yellow/Reach/Flash,it will be MADNESS.
@ZavikZyke haha yeah 2x2 would make proleague more colorful I kinda miss the old days when the proleague was way more fun. Reach/Yellow was a great 2x2 team,Nalra/Yellow as well
O YellOw the Storm Zerg, please save KT with the Mantoss and the Ultimate weapon. We SKT fans are a little bored as there is little competition in PL at the moment. In the name of Flash, Reach, and Kong. Amen.
OP here. They did interview the other winners in the video on page 2, but it's not the same interview that I translated. I'd be open to translating it, but I'm really busy this week, so we'll see :\ sorry guys.
