I'm slightly sorry that it was against KT, my home team, but I'm happy that I beat a strong player like Violet.You played very strategically.When I was analyzing the map, I learned that Fortress had a lot of strategic elements to it. While the distance is long, it's closer than you think. Furthermore, because it's hard to defend the entrance, the opponent has to build a lot of cannons after taking the natural. Because of this, I knew that the main had to be empty, so I went for a drop.There's a jinx that your team loses whenever you win.I only learned about this after I heard the fans. I guess my victory and my team's victory went in different directions so often that it's been called a jinx, but I'm glad that we all won together today.I think this is your first time winning with GoRush.It's also the first time I remember. The times where GoRush and I would both play were scarce, and this is the first time we both won. If one person gets to play, the other players have to be practice partners for the teammates so it was hard to get to play together. This time we got a lot of help from another team and got to practice a lot more so we can both play, so I'm really glad that we had both won. We will use this part more actively in the future so the two Zergs can play together.You must have been sad that Ace's records has been getting worse.Whenever we play, we look at the match and also predict the winners. But I had never thought once that we would lose. There were many cases where we were in a winning position, and our mistakes would overlap with our opponents playing well. Today I came to play thinking that as long as I avoid Flash, it'd be doable. I guess a lot of the Ace players are a bit nervous because they're not winning, and if we fix that problem I think we would get a lot stronger. Even GoRush seems to get a bit nervous when he was ahead. I think we need to fix this problem quickly.Ace has never gotten more than 10 wins in one season.Our current goal this season is 10 wins. It was a goal that we should have reached last year but regretfully we weren't able to. But now if we want 10 wins, we need to win 50% of our remaining games. Putting into account our current spirit it may be difficult, but I think we will meet our goal since all of the players are putting in their all.The Starleague preliminaries are soon.It's true that we are quite lacking, but we are always confident that we can make it past the preliminaries. So I think I lost because I was playing really carefully. That ace match was pretty awesome by Ruby, you wouldn't have expected Ruby to be pressuring Flash like that. Was truly a sight to see when you consider it as the #1 team vs the bottom of the barrel team. It was hard to believe that it actually happened. What I like about Ace interviews is they give long answers lol their answers equate to like 3 winners interviews for other teams.

I really think playing around the ACE players (who are previously successful but have had troubling times now) is going to help Ruby a lot when he goes back to playing full time again. When he mentions that he has trouble when he's ahead in games, I think that's really one part of his game that's always been lacking. When he's pressured (or he's pressuring) he seems to play much more solidly than when he has the lead. I remember the game he held out under pressure for so long vs Jaedong's 2hatch muta on Blue Storm, and I was amazed by how he could do this at a time when no other Terran could (especially on that map).

But back to the point, I don't think Airforce Ace is as terrible as people think it may be. I just think they don't get enough practice time like the other teams ( i.e Time commitment, they probably only get a couple hours a day vs .. 10?..12 hrs ) I'm sure if Ace got more practice time they'd probably be doing much nicer.

But, he's only 20-4 since March! The real Jaedong is 80% vZ... oh wait.
On a more serious note, it's really terrible that we consider Jaedong winning only 2/3 of his ZvZs for a period of a few months as a 'slump'. And Flash's loss in question here was actually not him playing badly, it was just Ruby playing better (it was a really good game, honestly). It didn't seem to be any real type of metagaming either - Ruby just kept his early advantage and fought every battle well.

Ruby said himself that he didnt practice for T, but for P. So the "He studied Flash's play to snipe him" doesn't sound right in this case. And dunno, Calm beat Jaedong (back in 09) by playing unJaedong-like, well prepared strats, that kind of stuff, he didnt really learn the Dong-style... No wonder he couldnt stay on top for long

I knew blindly liquibetting ACE would eventually work out in my favor especially with how bad my picks have been lately. Someone in the livereport thread said after going up 2-1 with GoRush winning "now they just need to beat Flash twice" and although that wasn't quite correct, in a way they did have to do that. Glad to see Yellow win again against protoss. Reminds me of his victory on HBR sending Bisu into a slump.

Practicing in ACE must be quite hard, no practice partners, only in after-hours (IIRC), very few players.
Remember when they used Team Melee to simulate Jaedong? That's why ACE is awesome.

But in all fairness, the worst 2 progamers playing in Team Melee would be better than the 1st progamer in most situations.

On topic, this is really disheartening as a KT fan. Only stats delivered what was expected of him. Firefist's game made me cringe like hell as well, KT should give more play time to roO and Hoejja as firefist's (neither is 815) not a dependable zerg in my humble opinion. And of course...violet needs to deliver on his potential. There are games when he looks VERY good, but games like this make me think that he isn't practicing hard enough. His inconsistency is frustrating to say the least, but at least there's hope that if he can find any sort of consistency he'd be a very solid protoss. Perhaps not the level of Dragons, but still good. A protoss hiya if you will. Very worrying for a KT fan; 4 rounds of rape and faltering at the tail end of the fourth round and the start of the fifth round. Makes me wonder how we're going to do in the playoffs.
On the other hand, makes me glad that yellow won a game after so long. Felt bad for him after his repeated losses especially

So true. Stats is an amazing player, so easily their 2nd most dependable wingman for Flash. I was annoyed he didn't get more time in round 4 (although that's probably due to my fpl team). Hope they utilise him more this round. (Although it was nice seeing Violet re-emerge last round. Oh - and ForGG!)
