In today’s SKT vs. Samsung Proleague game, Bisu didn’t arrive at the studio. SKT’s head coach explained that “Bisu needs to adjust his condition, so he’s currently at the practice house undergoing special training.”
Coach Park accepted reporters’ telephone interview after the games ended, and said “We hope Bisu can quickly exit this slump, so we’ve been focusing special training on him. During SPL games, having a player who we know won’t play come to the studio is not only a disappointment to the fans, but also a blow to the player himself. Thus, we decided to have Bisu stay at the practice house. He hasn’t been playing in any recent SPL games, but from in-house opinions and evaluations, Bisu’s condition has been improving.”
As much as I love Shuttle, Stats, Snow (three S lol) and Flying and hope that they one day bring protoss back into a competitive shape I really gotta say.
I miss Bisu. He is the protoss version of Jaedong and Flash.
SC is missing something without a monster protoss.
SKT are really trying to pull Bisu out of his slump. Not only he is doing himself good by destroying everyone, but he is helping a lot the image of SKT, being the flagship of the team
being at practice house can mean only a thing: "practicing more" What can you do in a practice house? I hope that bisu will not burn out .___. However I really don't know if bisu need extra training..he simply need a vacation..
I hope he returns but all likely he won't be as good as he used to be ( as is the case with Progamers reign)
Side-note: Since he didn't show up to the studio, that means he wasn't part of the lineup therefore everyone who got -1 shouldn't have those points removed?

He already had another vacation recently, but unlike the first one it did him no good.

In all honesty, I don't like Bisu for some reason. As a person, as much as that is possible as just a fan of Starcraft.
But, I'd like to see Protoss have another dominating age, and this guy will probably have to be right in the middle of it. A Protoss "Bonjwa" would forever prove how balanced BW is. I won't worry about "how long BroodWar has" left as an esport. Someone or a few people dominating with Protoss, able to beat Flash... ugh I'd love it.
Hence, I really do miss him as a very skilled player. Someone who makes the whole game actually seem better. Kal and Jangbi (again recently) are great, but it's not the same without Bisu and his mad skills. Evil though he be, I miss him.

Im sorry then, its huyk who is the leader of the team and drives all the fangirls crazy
Bisu.....please recover and come back I know you already have done enough to have a career that all but a very select few would rightfully envy, but the fans still want to see you play!
Man, I miss the old bisu. I started watching back in late 2008, when Bisu was the man to beat. Hoping that he can come back before the finals so he can lead SKT T1 to a victory over KTF in the Grand Finals :D

Come back, KTY!
Eh? My sense is that the T1 coaching staff don't really focus on the 'practice even harder' to succeed mentality. In any case I'm glad they're taking this step, as Bisu's problems aren't simply his skill.
Actually I wished there was a real break between Proleague rounds to give players some time to recover and reflect, but there isn't. The T1 staff are creating a break for Bisu, though.
Opposing teams don't need to worry about facing Bisu in Proleague? Well I'm sure they weren't really worried with the prospect recently.
This is a really good step. I'm sure skt knows better than to just push bisu harder. Especially with boxer around, I'm sure they have a very good idea of how to get people out of slums.
You got this Bisu! You still have fans that didn't put you on their anti-teams! (hi) Take your time and strike when the time is right! Make these haters cry! Snow has been paving the road for you at the moment. We are all hwaiting!
savior's poop carpet bombing must've affected their relationship. imo that's what's bringing bisu down--people telling one of his msl badges ain't legit.
God, with both Bisu and Stork slumping, there's just no wow-factor in watching Protoss anymore. COME BACKKKKKKKK. What other protosses can rival Flash on any given day aside from these two? T_T Although snow is up and coming. :D
I think if he had to do with match fixing his name wouldve popped up somewhere some time ago. It makes sense that they left him at home, remember the games where whe was on the bench but didnt play? He had this face, relieved he wouldnt play, but seemingly dissapointed too.

imho in his last ten or so matches, he had this aura of not believing in himself. the cumulation of playing decent for most of the game and then blowing it all by some few fuckups, (or getting dominated right from the start because he lacks aggressiveness and determination in his play,) again and again, really must have been a hard blow to his self-confidence. he plays as if in every second of the match he himself is afraid of the fuckup that seems to be inevitably waiting for him in every match these days.
to sum it up: he plays as if he had lost his mojo. i dont think any of his skill has deteriorated. its his mental state which affects his decision making and approach to his games.
What happened to vegetarian wolf Anyways - BISU EXIT SLUMP PLZ! I'm tired of seeing shitty protosses not get into semifinals of... anything. bisu/stork/flash/jaedong once again please <3

Fixed, let's not forget the other guy who had a year long slump. Look what happened when he went out of his slump.
I don't think Bisu will dominate like Flash does, but I don't want to give up on Bisu either. His skills are still there, the only thing that's missing is his confidence and boldness. I think it was once said in an interview he plays too safe for his own good.
If he snaps out of that he'll be back in top form, and on par with top A class players for sure.
I've always been a huge fan of Bisu, his play has by far the most flair and excitement of any Protoss. His old PvZ style was art, no other way to put it.
He was like a Protoss Boxer - watching him play was COOL.
SKT has a track record of holding slumping players back from the lineup in order to maintain their image.
Just look at Midas. He slumped and then disappeared from the world entirely.
Same with Boxer. Hyuk said Boxer was ranked 5th in the team ranking, yet he has not played since he defeated Killer and then lost to Yellow.
This is nothing special.
SKT did the same thing for Bisu before. Bisu slumped hardcore and disappeared from the lineup, only to reappear to dominate the entire scene for two years afterward.

I believe, Bisu.
wat
Flash never really slumped before, in the sense that Bisu had slumped. When Bisu slumped, he lost to fuckin Chalrenge and Luxury in the same night, and played 2v2 for his team. The furthest Flash ever "slumped" was to a A+ class progamer where he still stomped most of the scene in the face.
When Bisu slumps, he drops out of both leagues early on and loses in incredibly embarassing fashions, much harder than Flash's "slumps".
I wouldn't bother taking stock in him 'improving' it's probably just one of those things where he needs to wake up one day and decide, 'fuck this shit, i'm just going to use whatever build i want and do whatever i feel like i should be doing during a game'
I think the special training would be more of motivational, mental and some practice training to improve his game sense. I miss the dominating fashion Bisu has..
I think they're keeping him under wraps cause they're training him to be their ace Starcraft 2 player. That's why he's slumping at the first game - he's focusing on the next iteration!
Seriously nowadays with all that Jaedong and Flash madness, you really see that there is something missing. Where are the old days when Jaedong, Bisu and Flash were the three kings. Such a good memory
On June 01 2010 11:31 traced wrote: bisu slumped for much longer and much harder than this before
Bisu definitely has not slumped this hard before. People are barely even talking about him anymore, and when he doesn't get through MST or OSL Ro36 no one is even surprised. He was never ever in that position before, even if his play has slipped for periods of time before. This is proven by SKT's obvious concern for him and his lack of play in important ace matches this whole PL season.
I would be very surprised if Bisu got to Ro8 in MSL or even Ro16 in OSL again anytime soon, but here's to proving me wrong Bisu.
I knew he would take a break after his 2nd last game, after losing to Lomo he looks so broken, he doesn't rejoin his team in seats/bench, avoids everyone and he just goes and sits on the ground against the curtain/wall.

BISU FIGHTING! I don't see how he can keep slumping, he was so godlike a year ago. He just needs to play like a confident player again. Not having Bisu around is like no Flash for terran or no Jaedong for zerg. We need this boss dancing on stage with Boxer again!

thats not really special tho.. doesnt he already play like 13 hours a day? physical training might actually relieve some stress or something so he can think more clearly
Anybody remember this? I think that was the deciding point in Bisu's career.
Bisu was already playing shaky, but most TL still recognized Bisu as S-class. It was SKT v.s. MBC. SKT was on verge of being all-killed by Light. Bisu stepped up to the plate. He made a heart shape at that little fangirl of his who waved at him throughout the entire match and fought against Light with all his might. It was a fantastic game that ended in Bisu's defeat, leading to the all kill.
After that, Bisu's record deteriorated rapidly.

The problem is, as they stated outright in an interview, he's not actually that smart in creating builds but he's good at taking other builds and doing something with it. That's how he created the Bisu build: by taking rA's forge expand and Daezang's corsair/dark templar and used his mechanics to make something out of it.
No protoss has really achieved anything or put anything new on the table. SuperArc or some idiot will probably run in here and say Snow but Snow hasn't achieved anything new either, he's just playing smarter than every other protoss in PvT.
Protosses are still good enough to get deep in individual leagues...until they run into really good zergs and they just get 3-0ed out of the MSL/OSL.

I certainly think Protoss is he hardest race at the higher levels. So odd that they also are, almost undeniably, the easiest at the lower levels.
probably because the units are so simple to use. at first thats a plus, like, oh i dont have much to do, i just need to make zealots and goons and micro a little bit. But at higher levels you NEED to be able to make your units do something, and zeals and goons are still the same :p

He should go back to one of the very basics in Starcraft, Im talking about studying his replays pretty sure hes being listening to his coach and teammates instead of focusing on his own ideas plus he got used to a couple of builds and stopped showing a creative play style he turned into another easy to read Protoss. He should do some research on his own games/replays and maybe he will come up once again with some Revolutionary Builds just like he did on 2007.

Yes, that's right. That is the post-interview after Bisu 3-0 Ma Bonjwa
You won 3-0. >During practice session, I discovered very good build against zerg. Due to this, I was frustrated many times from practicing last night. Yes yes, Corsair/DT combo was first utilized long long long time ago by DaezanG, ineffectively. But did you think that Bisu dug up a build that old? No, he reinvented it, perfected its timing and made it work. Don't forget, the Bisu Build is one that requires heavy multi-tasking, one that suits his style perfectly and can only be perfectly utlized by him.

Then he contradicted himself in another interview, didnt read that. I know what I read. And Reach also was the first to use Sair DT fyi.
Kingdom : Bisu started playing incredibly standard and predictable around an year ago if I recall correctly. As the coach for both Best and Bisu if I compare the two together, Bisu was not that good at making Build Orders at all. In fact, Best was a much better at making new strategies and build orders for his games. Best was very good at making transitioning build orders and new and exciting build orders to throw off his opponents. But on the other hand Bisu had a really hard time changing his strategies and trying out new things. What Bisu was good at doing was copying and modifying builds Stork and Kal used previously to win games and making it better.
