Though it seems very relevant, I'm too afraid to hijack the holy-sacred Small VOD Thread where this was originally posted.
A discussion began on page 332 of that thread about the Korean version of GOM player containing a button that will allow you to watch Proleague. This isn't just a button to let you tune in to live Proleague broadcasts, mind you, but Proleague VODs.
This image was included to show where the button is:
http://yfrog.com/1agomtvj
However, when I went looking for the Korean version of GOM player, I ended up with the 5,724kb file GOMPLAYERSETUP.EXE, it seemed to recognize my previous installation of GOM player, and the instructions were in English. How can I install the Korean version so I can watch Proleague VODs?
I'm asking this because Wfbrood/youku are terrible when you don't want to wait for nevake/jon747. The VOD I've been trying to watch for the last day has a broken segment (youku seems to "segment" its flash video files so you can't get the whole thing at once, it loads a new file every few minutes), and it's really irritating.
UPDATE: Korean GOM player located here: http://app.gomtv.com/gom/GOMPLAYERSETUP.EXE
Works for Proleague! refer to image

The small vod thread just posts videos from jon747 and nevake so don't be afraid to hijack it... I've also been looking for ways to watch proleague cause nevake takes like 4 weeks to upload stuff. Im not korean tho so I can't navigate through youku and wfbrood

Hey, it's actually fairly easy to find a VOD on youku. Just enter player names in to the search box on youku.com (e.g. "jaedong midas") and click the button next to it. One of the "sort by" buttons above the results is for date, but I don't know which one... Usually there are only a few results and it's fairly easy to identify which one is the one you're looking for...
Also, those sites aren't korean but chinese.
|
|
Wfbrood isnt hard to navigate as on the front page it'll say the names in english for the most part (team names and player names). I'm suppose to be chinese, but I can't read any and its easy to go into but the loading times are horrdendous at times... I find jon747 has been doing a pretty nice job of being up to date atm though at times he's a tad bit slow but I'm grateful anyways ^_^.

And nevake currently takes a couple of days (not weeks) because I have other stuff on my mind and the original vods sources are unbelievably slow for me.

Yeah Zatic! How dare you take your time when downloading original source videos for everyone and then taking SO LONG to upload them to youtube for free while getting much less recognition than you deserve. Who the hell do you think you are?
|
Between this and ongamenet.com for OSL VODs, we really only need youtube for MSL. Sweet.

I really see nevake as more of an archive than a way to watch instantly

So, in case anyone was wondering, here's where I got the Korean version: http://app.gomtv.com/gom/GOMPLAYERSETUP.EXE
I've added this to the OP of this thread. I've tested it, and indeed you can watch Proleague VODs using the mysterious korean button. Also, funny Korean commercials!! Thanks, everybody.

Well, I am trying to catch up, 24/7. But for some reason it takes me about 10 hours to get a single set of games because of terrible speed, so to catch up with 10 matches of proleague unfortunately takes a couple of days.
Once I am up to date with PL I can probably upload within the day the games are played again.

Does this korean version of gomplayer let you watch proleague live?

I think it does. I'm looking at it right now. I can watch more korean stuff than just proleague!! THANKS MAN!
|
Okay, i see that some shows you have to subscribe while some shows are free. Fortunately, proleague is free. If you're poking around for other korean shows, please keep this in mind.

This is great! Watching ProLeague in GOMPlayer. Can I also then watch MSL and OSL live via GOMPlayer?
|
Oh funny korean commercials, how I missed you.
|
oooh wow!!! this is great!!! i've been playing around with it for about 3 hours now and i've been watching everything from live PL to the roadcameras all over southkorea xD
something that would make this thread better thou would be an explenation about how to make an account on this thing >.< i'd imagine that you get less comercials and that everything is allowed, because right now it seems that half the stuff is "off limits" or they just dont work atm, since i dont know korean i dont really know what it is that im klicking to watch but hey.. after a while i think i will learn where my favourite's are at.
well... imma watch this "star2gether" show ^^ seems cool!!
Thanks for this!!

What are your sources?
How do you download?
Maybe I or other people could help by downloading the set and uploading a torrent, so you can download it at high speed and catch up.
I'm pretty sure lots of people are willing to collaborate.

Nice found, Now I can download all vods from gomtv.com :D

This is awesome!
Before I download it and start looking through the Proleague games, is there any way I can be spoiled or any precautions I should take?
Thanks!

The videos are video-on-demand, but they are not downloaded as on youtube, they are streamed as on livestream.com
I experience lag, but pausing to allow a little buffering to catch up generally solves it for me. For the most part it is quite zippy and smooth and high quality.
|
the quality is fucking amazing, but its trippy and there's like 2 minutes of commercials
|
I tried to install this before I had a OGN account, but it didnt really work out. :/
|
Wow, this is pretty awesome. Quality is really good.
|
Nice, works with ease. Watching some of the matches I missed recently.
AWESOME QUALITY.

Same , watched + Show Spoiler + and I had no buffering issues, amazing quality.
I haven't found a way to watch OnGameNet or MBCgame or anything else live. Whenever I click on something that says "live" next to it, it takes me to a list of what I think are channels and I get an error message when I click on them. Is there another way to watch live games? I'm guessing I have to create an account somewhere.
|
You can watch live OGN matches if you make an account on their website: ongamenet.com Theres a guide somewhere in TL, then just stream directly from them.
Not sure about MBC, they do have a stream source IIRC but I dont know how to make it work. Or was foreign IPs banned, something like that?

WOW AWESOME. But soooooo much buffer

You can lower the quality by clicking 고화질 (under the big play button on the right) and selecting 일반화질
|
how do i navigate in this shit? edit: where do i press to watch starcraft? i edit: i clicked on an ad that said proleague seems like i found it hehe
|
this is pretty amazing it takes a while to get the vid to start, but as soon as it does, there is absolutely no buffering for me. I only wish it didnt show how long the video is
|
wow this is really nice.. thanks so much
|
For some reason i can't click anything so i can't get to the starcraft part. Anyone know of a solution? (1st time using gomtv)

|
Where was this last year? I definitely like this. This could be useful.
|
EDIT: I think I'm in love. There's no spoilers in the STX vs Stars game, quality is great (default settings) and no buffering at all.
|
Despite all the bloat, the fact that the whole start of the video is all replays and how it semi-forces file associations and crap, I think I like this thing.
|
It worked quite well when I streamed the first two proleague matches, but then I watched some other normal videofiles through the player and the browser dissapeared. I can't find any online-shows at all, the usual 'browser' window to the right is gone. It's probably quite easy but my korean is.. well... nonexistant. Any ideas?
Also. 4th STX fan posting in a row <3

When you right click the screen, is one of the options in that menu an option to make the video brigther?

Gomplayer is working great, but my connection is a little subpar sometimes so it's nice to be able to turn it down.

When I try to install it, it stays stuck at about 80% progress. Any way to fix this?
|
By the way if you guys have Iphones/Ipod touch, there's a free GOMtv app that offers all the Proleague matches + Music videos and stuff. And It's munch more easier to navigate.
|
My first time bootin up Gomtv player. Ty for the Korean one so I can watch all the vods and such, as the English just had the player. T.T
One question though, when their are multiple proleague, starleague, etc. games being played, will the starcraft tab have multiple stream options to watch both?
Such as if both ogn and mbcgame are broadcasting(which happens all the time in proleague matches) which one do we get to watch on the gomtv player, and which one isn't included? What I mean is, which one is live, and which will we have to wait for the vods?
Thanks,

Edit: Sorry for bumpin a semi-old thread, I just had a question I couldn't find the answer to.

Gom sucks, would rather go Afreeca to be honest. It's there as a last resort though.
