It's kind of a mystery, but he does get results, and results are all that count in the KeSPA rank.
(Also, the skill curve has been flat lately, with every top player besides Flash being more or less on a level... so if you're just a nose ahead of the pack, you can place really high on the ranking.)

I like how Flash goes DOWN 6 points for going 10-1. I know you're supposed to get extra points for "ace" wins, but does the final game of a WL match count as an ace win? Because Flash has four of those (STX, MBC, Woongjin and Wemade). If so then I don't see how Flash can gain points outside of winning an individual league next month, which he can't. =\

Yea okay so he beat scrubs and yet really only lost to Flash twice, Light once, and FBH once (who always has respectable TvZ). The only actual scrub kwanro lost to is action.

Maybe in last year's March, Flash got even more points.

It's more a combination of all of his points from december to last March going down 10% than just last March.
Maybe it's because he just started losing points for his OSL victory and MSL 2nd place. Either way when you go 10-1 beating the toughest competition this side of Jaedong and lose points, that's a mean sign.

Other than Flash at #1, these rankings do not reflect reality in any way.
ELO makes sense.

flash got +500 because of title win, those extra points get reduced to 0 over 6 months, so basically he lost 50-100 points because he didnt win a title, and gainst 40-90 because of pwning shit out of nubs. thats why he lost 10 pts

Kespa ranking pretty heavily leans on past performance, it takes several months of consistency at least before these things will change. For instance, Flash was the best player from October onward but it was not until March that he took first (mostly due to JD's massive lead).

It does not penalize "not playing", therefore players will deem not playing as benefitial when reaching a certain point.
They should add to the equation, every day not playing = -100 ELO points, that way it will be more fair and accurate for newer players
Kespa leans with fairly recent performance compared to ELO. if you dont play much recently, you WILL drop in kespa ranking, but not in ELO.

I doubt Korean pros care what their ELO ranking is on TeamLiquid.net. They certainly wouldn't stop playing games to preserve a high ranking.

How do you get points if every day you do not play you lose more points than you can win when you do play? You have no idea how Elo works.

Kwanro keeps getting deep in starleagues. He might be terrible and I hate him but his style of play tends to beat most people in the early rounds of starleagues. Seriously you would think people would figure him out by now.

Well, first of all, what they are involved with is "illegal gambling." Whether or not they threw games to make money is a different and more touchy matter.
If they bet on themselves or were involved with side betting on players other than themselves, then my understanding is that they were still breaking the law, but on the level of whether I personally think that doing such a thing is right or wrong I have nothing against it. Certainly if you bet money on yourself then you must be confident.
However throwing games to guarantee you turn a profit is something else. Words like despicable and dastardly come to mind.
It's easily possible that most of those gamers might have been involved in side betting. I'd like to think that they weren't throwing games. For certain particular players it definitely seems like they probably did throw games.
