“I’m happy about advancing to my first MSL Ro16”



Q: How do you feel about your first Ro16?
A: It was my first time advancing to MSL Ro16 and I was lucky enough to make it this far so I’m really happy.

Q: You beat Jaedong, who brought you into the group
A: The reason I won is mainly due to the fact that Jaedong wasn’t feeling well. I want to play him again once he feels better. I think that’s when we’ll be able to test each other’s skills.

Q: How’s the new map Triathlon?
A: I didn’t see how I could win with simple Bionic, so I thought of something that Jaedong might not have expected and prepared 2 Port. Because he wasn’t aware of what I was doing, I was able to take control of the game starting mid-game.

Q: You played strategically in Winner’s match
A: I saw July’s Hatchery timing and knew that he went 12 Pool Gas. I had practiced against that before so I just went on with my plan.

Q: You beat Stork and Jaedong consecutively
A: In the past, I used to be afraid of Bisu, Stork, Flash and Jaedong, but now, I feel rather excited before each game. I didn’t really feel nervous and thus I was able to play like I do in practice.

Q: People are anticipating more and more from you so are you greedy for a title?
A: I do feel greedy about individual leagues, but my team must advance to the post-season so I want my team to make it to the post-season first.

Q: Were you pressured that there were two former winners in your group?
A: In Survivor, I had the experience of beating Luxury so I felt that it wouldn’t be much of a different feeling. I was able to play more comfortably that way.

Q: You’re playing a lot of strong players lately
A: I think I’m facing stronger players as I get better, but it’s more fun playing against them because games become more intense.

Q: Anything else?
A: I thank minoR, RorO, and herO[jOin] for helping me practice. Also, my friend since middle school came to watch me today and I want to thank him for cheering me on.

“My goal for this season is to win again”



Q: How do you feel about barely making to Ro16?
A: Ever since the beginning, I only thought about winning so I thought that I would advanced past Ro32 with ease. I practiced mostly for game 1 and I thought that I would advance with 2 wins if I won that. Although I managed to advance, I lost the first game so I’ll do my best to make up for it and show a good performance next time I face Baby.

Q: Did your loss shock you?
A: I think I practiced too much with ease. Therefore I was continuously dragged on by BaBy’s build order. However, I don’t think of it as a huge hit on me and because we can meet again in Ro8, I will have to wait for it. I’ll play with the mindset that I have nowhere else to go.

Q: When you lost to Baby, there were 2 Zergs remaining
A: That was my intention from the Group Selections. I was confident that I won’t lose any ZvZ, so I thought that even if I lose game 1, I would be able to advance in the end. I think it worked out well in the end since I advanced.

Q: You’re on a 3-game losing streak against Baby
A: Because I’m losing against him, I don’t think that I’m better than him anymore. Next time I play against him, I’ll play thinking that I’m rather challenging him in order to show better performance. I think that’s how Baby grew a lot stronger as well.

Q: How do you feel about the new map?
A: I don’t know about ZvP, but I think it’s doable for Zerg in ZvT. It feels so much better than Ultimatum last season (laughs).

Q: Is your goal to win this season?
A: Yes. If I just win 1 more MSL, I get a Gold Badge in addition to my Golden Mouse. That makes this season much more important to my career.

Q: MSL Ro32 members are strong.
A: I think it will be fun. I’m expecting a lot, and because I generally like the map pool, I think it will be fine. I’m really relieved that I played the opening match. I can start focusing on Ro16 while focusing on Proleague, so I want R4 to come quickly.

Q: Has your Enteritis gotten better?
A: It’s fine now, but it was really hard back then (laughs).

Q: Anything else?
A: Because it’s April Fools, I wanted to advance with 2 wins and give a fun interview but I felt a bit depressed after losing the first game, so I don’t have anything to say in particular. And also, our team’s dog died in an accident last night so I’m still sad about that. We took him to a vet but there was too much blood in its lungs, so we couldn’t do anything. All our teammates are in shock right now and because he was such an active dog, I hope he continues to run around happily in heaven.
