Yellows comment was very true: "you're just shown eating all the time".

Coming to think of it, eating plays a central role in much of Korean television. Is this food "fetish" a remainder from the war when food was scarce? Watching people eat sure seems popular.

I honestly believe that this show must be really trying to cover up how good nal_ra really is, so they can surprise everyone at the end when he actually posts somewhat good results. I mean, check out what he's done so far:

1. BEATEN FLASH. Straight up, no cheese. You can say he got "lucky", but how many protosses have even been "lucky" against Flash? In his last 15 or so games... only M18M, and that was in Winners League, directly AFTER beating Jangbi & FBH & Stork 3-0, and M18M only won cuz of DTs. Previous loss to vP was to Movie in OSL finals Bo5, in a heavy protoss-favored map (eye of the storm, PvT >60% lol).

2. Beaten yarnc, hoejja(i think?), and real yellow (twice), in his WEAKEST matchup (and he beat go.go before he even started training). That's no joke, you could see the other sparkyz progamers pretty stunned by what happened... but the show didn't praise nal_ra that much.

Basically what I'm saying is that they're trying to mold an epic storyline... : the washed-out progamer who sucked, but somehow instantly got better in time for qualifiers. They LOVE to make fun of his mistakes and his obvious deficiencies... but regardless, his recent results are not bad at all, even for a lower-class progamer.

Anyway, can't wait to see more of this show, it's so epic. Nal_rA for next MSL!!!!!!

Maybe true. The bits of the games he played that they showed did show that Nal_rA's storms were brilliant vs Zerg. I hope he really does succeed!

he has a 60% win rate on iccup which isnt that impressive *edit* but yeah, i'm definitely rooting for him

we're copying japan, so that when viewers are eating while watching it they don't feel like they're eating alone and eating with ra.

Where did you hear that SK gaming was part of translating Old Boy?

I mean I found an article on their site it pretty much just credits TL

They give TL credit, so whatever. They're just uploading it so their readers can watch it on their site. As long as they acknowledge that we did it, it's all fine

yeah seriuosely they almost never ever show someone actually eating something. they mite show him hold up a fork with a piece of meat for 15 mins but not eat it. ok they mite show 1 or 2 bites at most.

America is fat. Food makes you want to eat. Big no no for Americans.

I'm fat. Everytime I see something on television that's edible, I crave it for the next day or two.

lol
have you watched any korean shows or are you just trolling my arse?

i think some shows do it (like family outing) because there are some pretty hilarious convos that can come out of eating together; maybe they do it because it bonds the viewer and the viewed? I have no clue lol

I'm odd, I get hungry after watching one of those Nature documentaries where the lions take down a water buffalo.

They usually start posting the schedules around when the osl ends. Results are updated i think in real time during prelims. Some of the games are shown. I dont remember either live or broadcasted later on. Theres going to be a thread following Ra during it so don't worry about it for now. The current osl still has a bit to go.

ah i see.

they're starting to change that on the food channel though, I always see like... andrew zimmerman? eating food all day there.

back on topic,

+ Show Spoiler +
Ra's storms are the only thing that seem to distinguish him from "just another protoss" right now... in all the games that I recall of against sparkyz, he managed to get quite a few storms off. I'm surprised he can defend them from hogil and fake yellows' mutas :o
