We are HOI POLLOI
Sup guys, our CPL team (Team 6 chief badasses) decided to start a clan together since CPL is over (for us) ! team tag is hp. we named it hoi polloi. it means - multitude: the common people generally; "separate the warriors from the mass"; "power to the people"
so basically it just means we are the masses, since we're aiming to recruit low rank players playing for fun or to get better, so we can all practice/chill together :D
but tbh we wanted hp. because it could mean HUGE PENISES

As far as I understand the "Hoi Polloi" means the common people, as in the Average Joes. As such it could be used as a derogatory term for the unwashed masses, but seing how this is a clan for people of low ranks, I think that the term is rather suitable.

i love the idea, but is it really necessary to make everyone have the clantag in their nick? Annoying to have to re-add all friends , especially since i have several casual friends that dont log on that often.

Starting at midnight CET is going to be a bit quirky time for most people, even if we're in Europe. With it being during the week as well, it's probable that not many people will show up. Have you thought about hosting multiple tournaments in a single day during the weekend? It can potentially work out pretty well.

We are also still gathering the lineup, as we are relatively a new clan not all of the accounts have had games played on them yet. Also because it's relatively new it will take a little longer to get in contact with everyone but we can at least make the necessary 4 players

I just installed bw again. i never played it online other than bgh (i came from wc3 to sc2) so i pretty much got no idea how to play this game. Is anyone out there who is willing to help me out?
In terms of race i'll be sticking with terran (human in wc3 and terran in sc2 :D )
So if there is anyone out there: chriis on iccup or just pm me here

just make an id with the hp. tag and join the team mentioned in op, whenever you're online you'll automatically go to our channel on login, and you will have a bunch of people to practice with :D

I'm thinking of playing a lot right now. I've been playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 but RTS and TBS are way too different (I still love both despite sucking at RTS)
EDIT: I guess I'm saying, anyone think they'd be willing to play some games with a D- who's even out of practice?

Oh yeh, i think my net's holding up so I think I could start hosting games.. I'm on throughout the day except when I have to go out or when a stream of PL/OSL/MSL is up.
If you need a practice partner (aka, punching bag), I'm up for it, coz i wana get my fingers moving. I play decent Z or P, and mediocre to horrible at T.

Hm I remember this clan starting and being tempted to join. Seemed like a good idea. But with 143 members and no one apparently active that's not a good sign.
So if this clan is not active I invite all players to come to op [ta] for games and/or join if you're from Australia/New Zealand.

We can boast FadeToWhite amongst us, deL formerly of IcCUP, that random white guy who popped up in proleague matches for a few days, Scarecrow who is currently in South Korea, the now infamously banned lazz, the delectable Smace, long-time forum members Scaramanga, deth-rawr and more.
And of course me. All-round great poster who is NOT Subversion, some dude who thought changing the last two letters in my name is a good idea for a new nick.

In theory, the clan is active, but in practice there was never... centralised command so to speak, and I guess people got sidetracked by other stuff, namely Starcraft 2. Pretty hard to maintain a stable group with people you don't know, not to mention 200 people you don't know... plus the very nature of the clan, being made to accomodate new people, meant that there'd be huge turnover as people lose interest.

Hey, I've been playing semi-regularly lately, and have seen a few people, during the US Afternoon, but I've usually moved over to op [ta] during my night and the australian afternoon.
I was thinking that anyone who plays somewhat regularly should post a time that they usually are on, so that we could coordinate some time for people who want to play. I'm usually on at 17:00 GMT (+00:00) or later.

yeah, i'm not sure how many people actually know about op irc, much less go there. once i get home i'll jump on, but hopefully it won't be a graveyard...
and we'll need a new practice partner list that isn't full of MIAs
