At the BWI (blizzard worldwide invitiational), Boxer played a blind player as a special event. There was a newspaper article a while ago about the blind player, named Lee Min Seok. Being completely blind, he plays using sound only, and still manages to play decently!
Anyway, since it would be unfair to let Boxer play normally, they made him wear a blindfold for the first 3 minutes. Lee turned his moniter off while playing.
Being blindfolded, Boxer got raped by an early zergling rush. Showing his true colors, he abused his opponent's disability by lifting his CC and hiding -____-;;
After he was able to see again, Boxer did his thing and beat the guy who can't see, nice!
Oh well, I suppose Boxer did the right thing. If he loses, it looks like he just gave the guy a win out of sympathy. So better to just do what he does to every other low-mid lvl amateur that challenges him -_-.

Wow, this is realy impressing.. i mean i cant even imagime how to play without seeing what is on ur screen, but only hearing. Oh my.. and how did he know on what side minerals are, when game was started?

haha. I don't think there was anything wrong with what Boxer did. Boxer was playing with a severe handicap that he wasn't used to, whereas Lee Min Seok had years to adjust to playing blind. It would have been a crappy game if it ended in 3 minutes, so Boxer probably just tried to delay for as long as possible, but ended up winning.
Oh by the way, what was the condition of Lee Min Seok's blindness? Was he completely blind (black), or could he see things if they were up close, or smears of light?

The Zerg has a HUGE advantage after he had to lift and he should of know boxer would have to land near some minerals to win. Send a ling to each mineral patch? When not finding him, you know he's on the isle...build mutas and win.

it isnt the right thing. if i rushed someone and succeed and he started to lift his CC i would consider him BM. tT. the thing is, that after flying to the island, any decent player would easily eliminate him. but he used his advantage against handicapped player and won. SOOO BM.

This guy is right, had the blind man won because Boxer hadn't chosen a path that gives him the best chance of winning, the guy would have felt bad. Not everyone is like that, but most are. I don't want wins out of pity either.
The fact is Boxer got his vision back, had he not, the blind guy would have sweeped him with attack moving mutas. Full blind game and the blind would have won.
If it was agreed Boxer will get his sight back then there was no shame in this game.

This is a true story, Lee Min Seok is pretty much completely blind, but when he plays his opponents tell him when they will attack him so it kinda "evens it out" if you can even say that. He promised his mother that this would be his last bw game, and he plays by hearing the sounds of units attacking and such, he is definitely an inspirational story.

I would be more than interested to know how a blind man sends out a ling to every mineral patch to win. I'm also interested in how he could do all the teching stuff. U c, unlike boxer, that blind guy did NOT get a vision after 3 minutes.

But how the hell do you send your workers to the mins? how do you place the extractor and stuff? i was thinking that someone would tell him what was happening, and he would have to try things over and over, but full-blindness is silly, i mean, just try to play 1000- games vs comps, blind, and see if you can win just one.

Some really nice Korean guy gave me the avi which I'll re-encode and upload to my webserver later today. From his description of the game which parallels much of what Wax said, "In this game YoHwan. Lim (BoxeR) has two handicaps. Handicaps are 1. YoHwan Lim must wear eyemask for 3 minutes. 2. YoHwan Lim can't see his minimap for this game. Also MinSuk has two advantages. Advantages are 1. Before the game, MinSuk. Lee can do his personal keyboard setting. (Shift - F# Screen Save and etc) 2. His resources are free at his start location. (Because he can't do to get expansions himself.)"

wow at first i kinda thought it BAD MAnner for boxer to lift..but when i watched the replay i didnt think that because of 2 reasons..
1.if ur given the oppurtunity to take off ur blindfold that means u do watever it takes to win
2. haha and the next reason is he got attacked even after he lifted, so he had to lift again..it's funny how boxer was playing. In my opinion it seems like he was playing like a newb lol until later in the game. Boxer also looked very serious lol.

they should make a program for this guy so he can play more effectively,like some sort of sound ping system so he knows where he is on the map,where the minerals are/stuff.sonar sorta thing.
as for this news,at first i found it fascinating,then depressing.boxer is so mean.. -.-

boxers not mean..remember after he lifted he still got attacked. like i said b4 if they give him the chance to take his blind fold off he can do watever it takes to win or else those lings could of killed him..and someone posted something here that was true..boxer went random and got terran, if he had zerg or toss he would of loss it is destiny.

Why wasn't the blind guy able to win after he destroyed Boxer's bunker? At that point, Boxer had pretty much only SCVs, while he had a lot of zerglings and hydralisks. But he didn't press the attack and go onto destroy the rest of Boxer's base.
