After two months of preparation, over 200 fans from over 33 countries have finally gotten their messages to Lee Jaedong. Today before Proleague I delivered the card to the man himself and he was both shocked and pleasantly surprised to see the work of his foreign fans.
You can read all about the preparation for this project in these three posts:
This is that special secret surprise I promised everyone. It took me a little longer than expected to get a video camera for myself, but I managed to time everything correctly and now present to you Jaedong's messages to Teamliquid.net
He was very shy about using English, but we coaxed a few words out of him and then gave him a break to use Korean. Thank you Jaedong for kindly replying to everyone!
Translation:
Credited to Sky_slasher: Hi, I’m progamer Jaedong Lee. I feel very encouraged by a lot of fans outside of Korea making this wonderful thing for me. It’s an honor that people watch me in and out of Korea. It will keep me encouraged as I continue playing. Please keep supporting me!
I love Teamliquid!
(Jaedong said this to us and then we asked him to record it a second time.)
Also a quick shout out to Lomo who received English study books and snacks as an impromptu gift to celebrate Hwaseung's first match of the season. The other players and coaching staff were given gift packs of donuts.
~ Given with a request to study hard! ~
Final Notes:
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed a message. Also huge thanks to the coaches, players and management of Hwaseung OZ for supporting this project.
Projects like this remind me why I love eSports and the people involved in it so much.

Wow, you're fast. Thank you. I'll add it to the OP with credit.
Its so cute, I nearly died. And of course, major props to you Neggie for all the time and sanity that you sacrificed to make this possible, may you never be Kwanrolled again.
Omg I'm lost for words. NeverGG you are so freaking awesome! When I saw the picture of him smiling holding the card I thought "now there's a happy camper". PLUS we got a video of him! How can anyone not like this guy.
edit - Also thanks to sky_slasher for translating what JD said.
If Jaedong ever decides to offrace English seriously, he'll learn new English words at speeds in excess of 400 WPM and beat most people who main English with ease.

I'm always surprised at how few south koreans know english. They have arguably the best, and certainly the most grueling public school system in the world. I guess it's just not one of their priorities.
I'd be interesting in seeing more of the fan meetings and what they're like, though it seems like you recorded this one only because of the JD fighting card.

Sorry, but I removed the video because it's actually been uploaded for an upcoming article so I don't want people seeing it before that's published. (It was uploaded early to save me time later on.) I'll release it later on though
Also FranzF1 - Backho left early. There was a film crew following him round all day so I believe they were doing something special related to him. Hence he didn't join in with the fan meeting and had a mini meeting before then left with the crew in tow.

He tried his best on very short notice (like about 2 minutes.) and he's also pretty shy about it. Give him a break. How good is your Korean/another language you don't have much chance to study when only given a couple of minutes to prepare something to say?
Why do people think its wierd that he cant talk english better? How many americans can speak a language thats not english? English may be the universal language but that doesent mean that normal people speak it very well. You guys are too used to netizens who obviously speak english quite well. Random people from Germany, France, Russia, Italy and spain dont speak english very well either.
OMG This totally made my day! JAEDONG!!!! AWESOME!!!! YAAAAAA!!! ^_^ Thanks for this awesome opportunity and all your hard work NeverGG! =D keep it up!
I was also under the impression that Jaedong had a lot better English than what was demonstrated in that video. I thought he could actually communicate with others in English, at least to some degree. I think Tasteless mentioned that he was able to talk to Jaedong on an airplane and that he was really impressed by his English. Also he is supposed to be one of the progamers taking English classes.

He is able to communicate with me just fine. We really put him on the spot here though and as with most Koreans who speak English, but are not involved in the ESL field or consider themselves fluent he's very shy about using it. I can't believe some people in this thread are complaining about this English abilities.
As for everyone else who commented - thank you for the kind words of support. I will pass your sentiments on to Jaedong and Lomo in the near future. They seemed cheerful and enthusiastic about studying more English when I gave them their English studies books as a present for the first win of the season.
You really should be payed for all the hard work you do for the foreign SC community. And LJD looked impressed and happy for the gift which is awesome.
So does the progamers get alot of these things from their fans? I know that they sometimes get gifts on their birthdays eg., but a massive book like this that prob. took a work week to complete?

To be honest, I think it was meant more as an observation that criticism.

@ AzureEye- Yes, I've told him quite a lot about his fans on TL and how numerous they are. Plus there was a Korean introduction written by I10f on the card's front page.
They usually get gifts of snacks, letters and other smaller things at each proleague. It depends upon how popular of a name you are how many presents you get. Important events such as birthdays, team achievements and title wins usually mean larger, more 'one-off' style gifts.
Could someone by chance make Jaedong say "I"M A BALLER"? That would be epic, and O so true. <3 the vids, and big thanks to everyone who set this up. And to reiterate Jaedong is a baller for giving us a personal video!

He's had two already. I think it'd be better to spread the love to other players as well. I'm tempted to do some 'Team' message books in the future. I'm also pondering a Boxer book.
