HYUK ALL-KILL LOL Hyuk: "I will not under-perform anymore." "My target is to get into the Starleague."
- How does it feel to lead your team into victory? ▲ The reason I was sent out first was because my hometown is Chang-won. I honestly thought performing just 2 kills, but since this was my hometown, everything turned out better than I expected. My games progressed so smoothly, hence the good results.
- Were you confident in performing an all-kill? ▲ I told my teammates that if I were to be sent out as the first player and win the first game, I would be able to perform an all-kill. After winning the first game, I was all warmed-up and my games progressed so smoothly. That was why I felt I would be able to ride on the momentum and perform an all-kill.
- Since you were playing in your hometown, weren't you burdened instead? ▲ I came here when I was young to watch a basketball match. At that time, it was amazing watching the match indoor, but when I actually got to play in the stadium, I felt burdened. I was greatly pressured in the first game, but after winning, it disappeared and I was able to play with my mind at ease.
- You have been playing great recently. ▲ I am on a winning streak ever since the end of the season. Frankly speaking, it's not that my skills have greatly improved or anything. It's just that my games didn't turn out well due to various reasons, but I have worked on those problems, hence my good results lately. In the past, whenever I stepped into the booth, my hands would shake and my head would hurt, but now all that is gone and I am able to play the same way I did during practice. That led to good results.
- People must be greatly looking forward to see you play in the next season. ▲ After playing in the Grand Finals (Proleague), I haven't lost a single game. But exactly 1 year ago in this very time, I performed a 3-kill during the Rival Battle break and led my team into victory. Due to that, I was greatly watched by people but in the end, I didn't perform well during Proleague. That is why I told myself I couldn't let that happen again, and I intend to play the same way I've been during practice.
- It seems that you are going straight to Seoul. ▲ My vacation is somewhere in September. I plan to visit my parents then.
- Your team is now in the process of removing the image of a weak SKT1 Zerg lineup. ▲ When we had GoRush and JulyZerg, our team's Zerg lineup wasn't that weak. But I believe I was the key reason why we got that image. I feel responsible for it, hence I am working hard to get rid of that image. I want to strengthen the image of SKT1's zerg lineup.
- If you were to pick a player as your rival... ▲ It will be Kwanro (LOL). I don't think like that, but he (Kwanro) said so, hence I think he'll be my rival (laugh).
- What is your future target? ▲ I have yet to get into any individual leagues. That is why my target is to qualify into any individual league. I will think about winning after I achieve that.
Hyuk has often been said to be a practice house monster who fails under the pressure of live televised games...maybe he's finally got the best of his nerves! Good for him, I was always a fan despite his many awful failures.

this is so cliche imo, everyone says that about every 'prodigy' that turns up a failure. hopefully the 09-10 season will be the proleague season that breaks out hyuk.
thanks for the translation! oh man i hope that the opponents of SKT1 didnt take these games seriously because if these guys can actually perform on PL aswell, SKT1 is gonna get even more overpowered ;<
GOGO HYUK! I totally agree with pripple, zerg is sktt1's only weakness, they already have 2 powerhouses on both protoss and terran. If hyuk finally starts winning his proleague games consistently, sktt1 is just gonna own everyone (except maybe cj :D)

I guess this just confirms how important composure and mental toughness are in pro SC!

Especially since everyone has similar mechanics and knowledge of build orders nowadays. But most prodigies don't turn out to be failures =/ Jangbi is doing just fine.

Huh? Of course he won't win a title, but that doesn't matter --- if he can even break 50% in proleague SKT will be stronger than ever. Bisu/fanta/canata/best have been so good last year that SKT was winning even with a one-loss handicap from their zergs; imagine what might happen without the handicap. If this all-kill is what it takes for Hyuk to get his confidence, then it could be momentous for him and SKT.
Hyuk would totally crush Kwanro no problem. But if Hyuk can come up with half of what he showed today next season, T1 is gonna be sick nasty. Who needs Jaedong when Hyuk can actually win games?
I like Hyuk so much better than Frozean because he's zerg and doesn't make me uncomfortable when I see him. I don't think this was a complete fluke--he'll be a decent player next season.
Oh sweet, Hyuk doing well!! So happy for him, I can't wait when the time comes when we create new images and pictures of Hyuk owning pplz and they'll be like "LOL, YOU GOT HYUKED!"

You know what - I think Hyuk played very well. Those victories (especially vs. Hwasin and Kal) were for the most part straight-forward outplaying the enemy and not just BO+luck, and instead of his usual "zOMG I'M WINNING!!!11oneoen1" -> *brain explodes* -> loses any advantage he had no matter how massive type of game, he just kept on playing. I couldn't believe it even in the fourth game, when it was already obvious the all-kill was a fact.
If this is the Hyuk we'll see next season, SKT will be invincible. In a world where Bob Saget is considered cool due to irony, becoming a Hyuk fan seems natural.
