Low-quality CDs explode in high-rpm drives. Doesn't happen very often but it really sucks when it does =(

In all honesty I've been using my drive lately to burn PSX games. I'm catching up on some I never played.
Metal gear solid, resident evil 3, final fantasy 7, yeah.. I missed those..
It's gonna fucking suck not being able to read and write dvd's. This is giving me a huge excuse to pirate more =/

yeah! shit man, drive are hella cheap these days. blu-ray is the only drive that's "kinda pricey" and its still the same goddamned price as the rest when they weren't cheap as hell

like 7 years ago i pass for the same problem.
i was playing Diablo II like 4 hours (i only played games with CD) and like u said, the cd explote and crash my cd drive
little pieces of cd around the floor and pc
i think that was for the poor quality of the cd, i dont remember the manufacter but since that day i only use sony, imagine or princo (for last selection)

Had this happen to me a few years ago. The CD exploded and fragments went flying. 1 piece hit my girlfriend in the ankle and caused her to bleed.

I got a crack in my broodwar cd in 01-02 or so. No explosion but really annoying having to buy a new copy to play.
|
yeah they're easy to replace and cheap too. This actually happened to me like 3 years ago, I got scared and just ran out of the room lol
My computer has replaced two of them :|. I'm too lazy now and my drive half opens/doesn't open and I need to pry it open.

You have micro center where you live too?
Moment of connection between geeks!

There's a Microcenter up the street from me in Virginia.
Also, my Brood War CD exploded in my CD drive back in like... 99. I was very unhappy about it
You wanna piece of me, boy?

I'm curious, what was the RPM that thing was running? That's intense dude...

I remember when fifa 99 exploded in mine, like 9 years ago.Was scared as fuck haha, but turned my comp upside down and got rid of every piece.
|
That happened to my Broodwar cd a few months back..
I was in a 2/2 with a buddy and it shattered, I droped from the game and sent him a text with a thousand pieces of bw in my hand, haha. It was awesome. I think i lost the pic
EDIT: there was a crack in the cd, which I assume caused it to go boom..
EDIT EDIT: The drive still works

Which one is the best buy? I have no idea who has better quality for the money.
