Some weeks ago gamereplays.org announced a contest for a starcraft 2 forum signature. Winner gets 100$, not bad for a picture that should be not larger than 500x150, so I decided to give it ago. And, yeah guess what, I won the contest :D http://www.gamereplays.org/starcraft2/portals.php?show=news&news_id=509731 I had zero expectations for various reasons.
1. I dont make siggy's 2. The gfx community on GR.org is quite large and very talented.
But yeah, good things happen to good ppl right? Here is the winner of the contest :D The siggy worth 100$
Yes, its my girl. I strategically posted the concept here to get some feedback for this part of my work, so I'm thankful for all your critics.
Tbh I feel very satisfied cause I really needed to find some sort of appreciation for my work. Maybe you know, maybe you dont, but I'm originally part of the SC2GG gfx team and I'm proud to be there. I love all the community sites so I really try to contribute the best way I can to the community. This contest just showed me that maybe I'm on the right way. I started doing this gfx stuff more than 6 months ago, in some way it totally replaced all computer games for me and I can say I find the one hobby I'm showing consistency to, which is great.
I'm not good, I know. I'm exploring on my own the secrets of PhotoShop, trying to learn smth with each me new work. But without teamliquid, without sc2gg I would never had the motivation to improve myself in first place...
So thank you very much! Its a small thing to win a 100$ in a forum signature competition but sometimes you need smth small to see you are on the right way. For once I feel even a bit proud of myself cause I've achieved smth on my own, without someone to demanding it from me. I hope this is just the beginning - I feel at home in TL and in SC2GG so I will keep doing my stuff and hopefully I will get even better. I would be glad if you enjoy my work as well!

Wow, GRATS! Its not often you make that kind of money in art contests, and for a community member to win it is just outstanding.
5/5 for epic profit!

Maybe the love is a stim pack? I dont know, I just had to use the dead space there, tried to fit some logos, drawings etc but it was ugly so I thought I should just like type smth

hmm I think I will get dinner to some friends and get drunk, it wasnt really about the cash. But buying a tablet is really smth to consider. I'm afraid from everything new, I think I will have problems to adapt quickly, thats why I havent bought one just yet

=) ! It's always good to hear someone realizing their potential. Congrats on winning the cash, and even moreso for the accomplishment in itself.
Hopefully this leads to even bigger and better things for you. You deserve it disciple. After all, you single-handedly hijacked my 'sc backgrounds' folder. =P

Great job As a completely non-artistic person, I am always amazed at what people can create.
