...I've decided to make a series of blogs on exercise and nutrition. I have in my life done alot of sports and exercise and I have pretty good knowledge about the subject. Nutrition is also an area I find very interesting and I will try to cover it alot too.
Introduction These blogs won't come out regularly, but rather when I feel writing them, which hopefully will be often. They won't adhere to any specific structure and will mainly be assorted ramblings from the top of my dome, regarding exercise and nutrition.
I have done many sports in my life. I started out with soccer, played for 5 years, then I played tennis for 3 years, tabletennis for a little while, squash for like 6 months, badminton I've played like forever. Basically I'm good with a ball, and thus I've been immersed in these activities.
However I started lifting weights when I was 16 and I'm 29 now, so that is 13 years. Later on I started running and I run 5K/10K pretty often nowadays. My best time for 5K is 21:24 and 45:38 for 10 K. Yeah I know it's not super good but I'm pretty cool with it although I wanna be faster.
Different aspects of exercise Food and nutrition plays a VERY big role with your exercise. Proper nutrition can make or break you, and does so especially at higher levels. Probably many of you know the difference of having a good day when working out, compared to a bad day. The difference can be huge and is a result of mainly nutrition, water, PH balance, hormones, getting enough sleep etc. And one super important factor is also psychology. If you feel good about yourself, and you're excited about your life, you will make better results in the gym. Basically much comes down to psychology when your competeting at elite levels.
You can compare it to Starcraft and how all these top players have good mechanics. However some are champions, and these players BELIEVE that will be the fucking champion. Boxer, Nada, Oov, Savior, Jaedong, Bisu, July etc are all champions because not only do they train like crazy but they are also determined to be the best. They know that they can actually make it and that knowledge, makes all the difference.
Different kinds of exercise So what different kinds of exercise are there? Basically aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic means "with oxygen" quite literarly. Aerobic is therefore cardio of any sort, ie stuff that makes your heart pump fast and your lungs gasp for air. Anaerobic is more static exercise that doesn't require oxygen the same way that aerobic exercise does. This kind of exercise is lifting weights, body exercises, stuff for muscle strength in some way.
It's always good to mix cardio and weight lifting for health reasons; you get a healthy strong body. Many people talk about bulking and cutting like it was the only thing there is to do when it comes to lifting weights. Sure, you will always either gain weight or loose weight but you don't have to look at it that way. Putting on some muscle is good and you will have to eat more kcal than you normally do in order to gain weight, BUT this shouldn't stop you from doing some intensive cardio at least once a week.
These bodybuilder guys who mainly only do cardio when cutting aren't all that good looking for most of us right? It's not exactly the beach look we're looking for. A mix of lifting weights and cardio pretty much all the time, will make us get into a nice shape with a decent amout of muscle and a toned, strong hard body that is actually functional; you are strong and can run fast/long. It's not just for looks, it's about having a healthy body (and healthy mind) which makes you perform better in your every day life.
I will talk more about the actual workouts and exercises involved in the next blog, but rest assured, you will be in much better shape if you read my advice. Do what you want with it; sometimes the workouts I talk about can be pretty hard and they do require some discipline. But then again, so do many things in life if you want to achieve something. One more thing is that I like to be scientific when it comes to exercise and you won't hear me saying stuff like "Do 100 situps a day and you will get toned abs". Sometimes I will post links to actual research on a matter and sometimes i will post some personal preferences on some matters, but when I do I will explain why I think in a certain way.
I will also speak much more about nutrition in my upcoming blogs.

If you can't talk about masturbation with other dudes, how can you possibly talk about something as personal as nutrition and exercise?
+ Show Spoiler +I really don't think it's a mystery how to be fit and healthy. A well balanced diet with good variety and an active lifestyle. The hurdle for most people is finding time and the will to make the effort. We all took Health in high school.

Wow, I'm too lazy to even make goals let alone accomplish them. I hope you follow through with it

An "balanced" diet with "good variety" and an "active lifestyle" you say?

I guess you have a point in a certain sense, however the body doesn't tell you exactly how much grams of proteine you have to consume (made me think of defilers =|) per kilogram of body mass etc. That 's of course only valid if you really want to optimize your workout, which I would assume since it's a shame to put in effort for nothing. At least that's the way it is for me, I don't mind going to the gym 5 times/week but if I do I wanna know I'm doing all I can to get maximum effect out of the effort I put in.
