Check it out, the game is really one-sided, but it features scouts, pylon hearts, and the first BM I've ever done:

While you're still reading, I would like some help against the strategy he used so that this won't happen to me again. He used a really weird build order, 2 gate goons into 3 gate DTs into an expo, but it's the idea of the build I have trouble with. Units from a 2-gate prevent me from immediately taking my natural when I do a siege expand, and then the DTs kill all turrets that go up in the natural, further delaying my expo. How can I prevent the toss from delaying my expo like this? The only things I can think of are better turret placement and better scouting of his forces.

That's true. If I don't get any advice from here, I'll go to the strat forum. But I was hoping for some comments on the game, at least.

You got it with the better scouting. If you see it coming make sure you can protect your turrets with your tanks/workers.

OP: Hm I've never had that happen to me. I'd think in addition to the better scouting, abuse spider mines to reduce the threat to your turrets and comsat energy when you get it.
edit: and python is okay if you want to play it

Reason why I hate it. Not only is it lol outdated but there are plenty of people out there that think the exact same thing.. whether you're being sarcastic or not.
Hard to play many D-C ranked games on a map that isn't python, it's painful.

Siege expand puts you ahead if they went 2 gate. From there, use spider mines to prevent the DT from just walking into your base, and then turrets at everywhere important to prevent harassment from walking dt.
the 2 gate goon slows down the tech, so when 3 gate dt would hit, you should have at least 9 spider mines, and at least 3-4 turrets to deal with possible shuttle/reaver harassment or dt harassment anyway.
3 gate dt is pretty much an all-in build anyway, as you have your expansion from a siege expand for so much longer than toss does it's gg if he dosen't auto-kill you. Basically, you have your expansion up and running for at least a minute before protoss can hit you, so focus on defending. If you need to lift up your expo when the dt hit you, wall off your main, and then retake it with turrets and comsat, you'll probably still be ahead.
If you can sneak an scv around to see that there is no expansion from protoss (or a floating rax), then just prepare to defend, check for sneaky secret expansions, and try to punish the inevitable double expand after he tries to hit you with the dt. The double expand takes a while to hit, so focus on defending, push after you've neutralised the dt, and win.

haha awesome, 2goon->DT is the PvT build I used like half my games on maps with ramps back when I played P. I play Z now tho.
I never encountered a Terran who can hard-counter this build, the DTs pretty much give the P map control and ensure that he can expand before the Terran can. You could try to piss the P off with dropships but he should have dragoons to defend in time. Your best bet is probably to get scan asap when you realize he's getting DTs and then get rid of them and go down your ramp.
P has to cut probes to play this thing safely (to actually get the DTs fast enough without letting you sneak out vultures, or else you can just fuck him up with mines and it's autowin for Terran) so you won't be too much behind in economy. Just play standard from there and expect really fast Arbiters... and I mean reaaally fast.
If you're playing in the D-C range you might as well get mines every time, but better Ps will be able to kill the mines you place with their early goon/DT and you won't be able to move anywhere outside of siege/turret range, so probably better not risk it, unless you're really confident in your micro.

python is an alright map, but if you only play i then expand your horizons, fuck. if you click on the "Show All" tab on the games list on iccup and it's like 90% python -_-
