For the past 10 or so months I've been playing SC:BW off and on for maybe almost 300 games total.
I have two jobs and am a full time student, I like to play poker in my spare time, hang out with my friends on the weekends, but not anymore.
This dumb 60 apm protoss user (**** of clan x17) who has zero micro and is completely brain dead keeps owning me these past 2 weeks. Am I mad? Not really, but I am completely disgusted with myself. He's played 30k games over 10 years as opposed to my 300 or whatever but it's so annoying that someone so dumb keeps beating me. My mechanics are definitely beyond his at this point, but he keeps out playing me strategically since my timing obviously sucks and my build orders aren't perfected compared to his. He keeps winning the build order lottery. He only uses 1 control group for Christ sake. My friend told me he used to be C but I don't possibly see how. He lives in Ohio and is 22 years old yet he can't even speak English he just types random idiotic expressions in all caps SHUT UP I HATE YOU, LATINZA I FOUND YOU. He's so god damn dumb and bad I want to kill him.
Here's the problem, I no longer study, I no longer have any desire to hang out with friends, I keep waking up at 4PM every day and missing all my classes, I show up to work late and turn in all my work a few days late. I'm a complete degenerate now, all I care about is surpassing **** and I've put everything else on the backburner.
Hopefully I can surpass him soon, since that's all I can care about (I'm 4-17 vs him about).
I'm not asking for advice or anything, just pray for me that intelligence and innate skill can prevail before I lose everything.

Sounds like he's got you beat in terms of strategy and experience. APM isn't everything. You should continue to play the way you did before as opposed to abandoning more important things in life simply to prove you're better than him.
You shouldn't believe you're so much better than him anyway, when judging by your extensive record against him, you're apparently not.

I get what you're saying, but he has 60 apm and only uses 1 ctrl group. Yes he's better than me because he wins more but I'm disgusted someone like this abuses me so badly. I must surpass him otherwise I cannot accept myself has an adequate human being.

3) you obviously made up everything. Someone has 30K games under his belt and 10 years experience, and still is a 60 APM noob? Edit your post, change 60 apm to 150 apm and post to other sc forum, maybe someone will believe you;
4) check out Family Guy. Makes life easier;
5) you mention build order lottery... with 60 apm, i bet his timing is ridiculous, send a scout and adapt;
6) srsly, think of a more realistic story;
7) you state you played 21 times vs him (4-17) over two weeks. That's 1.5 games per day. And still you don't sleep/study/come up with a more convincing story/work?

SC isn't a strategy game. Not when you play it. When you play SC it's about speed, mechanics, scenario recognition and adaptation. It's about experience. SC is only a strategy game when you sit down with a pen and paper and figure out builds. Anything past D is entirely about "Have you seen this situation before? Yes? What is the best counter of the builds we know.. Okay, that one." and execution.
You watch Bnet attack and none of the progamers are using any amount of strategy. That's why they can talk while they play. They're just on auto-pilot, using their good mechanics and their auto-responses to what they scout.
It's not a Strategy game like chess, where every decision has deep strategical implications. It's about familiarization, positioning (which is memorized by map familiarization,) mechanics and execution.

I used to play vs a guy like this. He used to be around B- level but hadn't played in a long time and was using a laptop touchpad. He played random vs me and averaged around 60 apm to my 120 or so at the time. He won 90% of the time vs me. At the time I suspected him of maphack, but looking back I can easily see how someone with a stronger understanding of the game could have beaten me.
