I've gone nearly 48 hrs w/o sleep. And that was way too much for me. I literally couldn't wake straight, my hands shook, and I would massively overreact to tiny noises. Someone's phone rang? HIT THE FUCKING DECK.

Here's a rough idea of symptoms you can expect depending on how long you stay up.

by day 3-4 you'll be like a woman on her period, constant mood swings and general irritability.
by day 6 you will have memory lapses and difficulty speaking
by day 9 your thoughts and speech will become incoherent
by day 10 you will have severe memory difficulties and blurred vision almost all of the time

That's if you make it anywhere near this long. Have fun though.

I rarely do this kind of thing since I'm REALLY bad at it, at 30 hours I feel sick and like just falling down and sleep regardless of where I am, even when I have things to keep myself busy.
I guess it varies from person to person.

Those "hallucinations" are very mild , the can barely be called hallucinations if you ask me.

When I was in the military, we had a field exercise where it was so god damn cold that none of us could sleep, so I was awake for 3 straight days before I fell asleep during a liturgy (if thats the right word, priest was talking about jesus and stuff)

Allthough I was almost always doing something to keep myself warm, and I believe its a lot easier to stay awake if you're doing physical stuff, rather than just sitting infront of a computer or whatever, so I might be wrong.

And I really doubt its harmfull to do this every now and then, it gets to a point where you just cant stay awake no matter how hard you try

I remember one night I was on guard..so I sat in the most uncomfortable possition imaginably, and I just fell asleep and woke up when 3 sec later, rolling down a hill.

omg i did this in high school without the aid of caffeine for approx. 3 days and i felt like i went surfing in the fucking street naked upside down in snow into the ocean which was 400 miles away.
