Quit my job for 2yrs just to play WoW and maximum hours online was 72hrs(3days) without sleep ![]() I wasn't in the top 3 arena teams, but in the top % which rewards me with the title - Challenger. (Though i prefer the title - Duelist!) It's hard to find people within my timezone to play arena with me, I'm from Singapore and on a North America server. And ever since i'm with Razer, i spent more time on work then WoW so... i have not got a chance to try Season 5 (Damn, still in s4 gears now!) ![]()

I used to be a hardcore PvPer during the good old original days of WoW. When BC came out I switched more to raiding. Arenas, Battlegrounds and Resilience all ruined PvP for me since I was born and raised on world PvP. They just can't recreate the rush of world encounters on a stage, IMO. I ended up liking raiding though, my guild was ranked 2nd or 3rd Horde side most of the time and I was the rogue class leader before I quit. Before the new talent patch that basically nerfed everything we got 2 bosses into Sunwell, which I was always proud of considering we were very casual (no DKP, no harsh rules, ect.) I was also first in line for Warglaives (I play a rogue and always have/always will) but missed the night the first and only one dropped ![]() Once WotLK came out I stopped playing entirely for a month or two. I'm a notoriously bad leveler (and extremely lazy overall!) and going from being endgame geared back to the leveling rat race again kinda ruined my motivation to play. I recently started playing again though, mostly cause I missed all the friends I made. Everyone's 80 now so I can take my time leveling, doing whatever without getting ganked over and over. At least my T6 will last til level 80 for the most part. TLTR: Eredar, Horde side, hit me up :p Main: Colphyle Alts: Conflict, Vain.

I really believe that is it up to that individual. You can get yourself sucked into the game if you're a loner or don't mix around with friends often. For me, i think it's normal rather then addictive. I don't mix with friends alot...its either work or home. I'm bored with the clubs/pubs/discos in Singapore.. hate heavy weekend crowds.. hate driving on the road with traffic jams.. hate paying for expensive alcohol(I really miss the 1 euros beer in Barcelona) probably just hate stupid noobs(humans?) =X But in World of Warcraft, you get to choose the players whom you want to mix with and you feel invincible killing other enemy players with your wow-friends. And we talk about pc gaming peripherals, new games and whatever we feel like chatting about. I could never find a person in a disco that loves pc gaming like i do. It marks down to a person's hobby/likes & dislikes too i think. No offense to what i have mentioned.. but do comment if you have your own views. ![]() On March 05 2009 17:36 G.s)NarutO wrote: Show nested quote + On March 05 2009 17:30 Eminencia wrote: Lol PH! ![]() I understand your situations because i did that to my family too, haha!!! ![]() I'm a pvper too. I was super well versed when TBC came until WOTLK ruin my wow-life. Work has caused me to become a wow noob again.. there are so much contents in WOTLK that i have to read on.. and the talents change.. the nerfs... omfg, BLIZZARD I HATE YOU! (But i LOVE Blizzard at the same time, it's a love and hate affair) And now they removed resilience again.. I'm at 520 resi and my gears(s4) are obviously usless for pvp now. I ran a raiding guild from Vanilla through to the end of BC before retiring. I retired simply because those sorts of situations cropped up too often, and I felt it was affecting my RL friendships. I still play casually, mostly just to keep in touch with my game friends. I really enjoyed levelling in Wrath, and raiding is a lot of fun, but I'm not really interested in running the same raids over and over again. I play Alliance on Greymane if anyone is on that server.

my guildies have been with me for more then 3years too. Ironic that soon after I made the char back in vanlilla they nerfed fear effects (again), heh, good fun. Still, I liked playing the class and oh how I still do, the most fun caster to play by far. (although I hated the fact that you sort of had to go SL/SL for PVP in TBC, which killed all the fun). I really don't enjoy leveling or grinding so yeah I've stuck with this being my only max lvl character through all of TBC and it'll probably remain so through all of WOTLK and beyond. ^^

When WSG came out, when BC came out, and when arenas started were probably the most fun I've ever had playing any video game. I lost interest in PvP because I figured out I'd never be able to make a PvP video with my computer, and at a high level luck and group make-up counted for too much. I lost interest in PvE because I joined the guild that I perceived as being the best in the US, and then I lost motivation and never made really good friends with any guildies. It was also just a shitty time in my life for unrelated reasons. I thought about getting back into it for WoTLK, but I don't have much time any more and there's so much logistical work in figuring out which classes got which knew talents and skills, and which spec is the best, and which gear is the best for each spec and where it comes from. I can honestly say I've been farming Schmitty in since wayyyyy before he got his KT mace pre-bc. DnT's 5s/3s teams were always trash and carried by pve gear. I have some pretty funny screenshots of 3-0ing serenn in 2v2 during late season 4. He was a really solid warrior, although I think I possibly met a better one. During what time were you active on this BG? I was very active all s2-s4. I initially thought he meant Drama, but I didn't play 5v5, so thought maybe Dread or Overrated could meet the same description. I played mostly 2's and 3's in season 2. I also arena'd a lot pre-BC just for fun.

I'm talking about the most badass, curb stomping, exploiting guild in the world that trashed DnT's AB teams in lvl 52 blues, and won most of the world spawns against those three other guilds. :D I think I've been in DnT AB groups that have lost to pick-ups. I'd say it's important to appreciate how little most of the people in those groups cared for PvP. For them, it was just another thing to farm, and they usually did so grudgingly because they'd have preferred to PvE or felt that the PvP gear shouldn't compete with their PvE gear(this is me being generous and assuming the group consisted of raiders on their mains). Many even felt this attitude towards having to play just a few games a week in 5's to bank some arena points. I don't think anyone in DnT would dispute the charge that most members sucked at PvP simply because it wasn't a priority for most members, nor for the guild. For the time that I was around, no one cared about world spawns, although we still killed them pretty regularly. It must have been different for the first few weeks after BC.

I don't know about the world spawns. Obviously we didn't have the DPS to do much until after we got into the Kara stuff, but I remember winning them pretty regularly from Magtheridon even to the middle of BT, and we definitely pulled a few out while getting attacked by the [A] guilds. I think we actually got along pretty well with the 3 alliance guilds, at least moreso than with GC. The trash just killed it for me. I could live with the idiots in SSC fucking up Leotheras and even though Kael Thas was kinda fun, it just got so mindless after what we'd been through. Probably would've helped to have been my Naxx mage instead of a rogue, since you don't have to pay as much attention. I wanted to kill myself the few times I helped in Hyjal.

To make a PvP video, try using xFire. ![]() And i don't understand why you would need a group for PvP? You can always do world pvp, battlegrounds or just run into an ally town and start whacking every shit. You didn't mention about your level and i can't judge why you need a group. But well, i never do pvp if i'm not at max level or; if i'm not geared in pvp gears. There are always disadvantages in WoW if you're un-level and un-geared, same for all MMOGS. Don't be anxious about doing PvP when you know you can't win due to other factors. ![]() As for your PvE guild, not sure why you would want to join the best. I normally choose the guild base on the time i'm able to give them. For good guilds, they play alot and everyday you have to be on the game. You probably lost motivation because you seldom log on to mingle with the guildies nor run any dungeons with them? =| Knowing the stats and specs well is essential to play the game well. But if you are not playing competitively, honestly.. it doesn't matter as long as you have fun. ![]() On March 06 2009 06:46 enthusiast wrote: I played a pally from a few months after launch until a few weeks after Sunwell came out. I was on Kil'Jaeden for a bit, then Korgath for the rest of the time. I still play semi-frequently (handful of hours a week, moderately competitive), exclusively for Arena with some friends. Played very competitive in the early seasons (1 & 2 -- top 5 teams) then I realized that game had no right to be a competitive game since it's a constantly changing platform. However, the game is still pretty fun when you're playing it casually with friends. What ruined the game for me initially was hardcore raiding. You get all serious about it and strapped down, start to feel obligated to attend every raid once you become a key member. Terrible feeling especially if you have any real life responsibilities. I remember pre-BC where we were a cutting edge guild (top 50). It was really stupid to actually change my actual real life schedule around to meet raiding times. Fortunately, I got out of that and the game became much better and more fun after I went casual. On March 13 2009 13:14 Eminencia wrote: I hate the fact that they made the game easy for KIDS. Hate barrens chat.. hate trade chats... yes there is no challenge unlike pre-bc times.. I'm not so sure, I feel there really was no challenge even in Pre-BC times, People often confuse "challenge" with "time worthlessly spent". Rank 14 grind was a really stupid stupid stupid grind, I did it up to Rank 13 (I look back and think what the hell was wrong with me then). 3 month grind 24/7 play time, it was literally very unhealthy. I think the game is far better now as a casual friendly game then the painful, useless grind-fest it used to be. Spending a greater amount of time doing useless things (many rank 14 players were horrible players; far more hardcore raiders were even worse players) doesn't make it more of a challenge in my opinion.
