I ran a raiding guild from Vanilla through to the end of BC before retiring. I retired simply because those sorts of situations cropped up too often, and I felt it was affecting my RL friendships. I still play casually, mostly just to keep in touch with my game friends. I really enjoyed levelling in Wrath, and raiding is a lot of fun, but I'm not really interested in running the same raids over and over again. I play Alliance on Greymane if anyone is on that server.

I think I'd have quit ages ago but I just like the community I ended up in, and I still have lots of fun so I doubt I'll quit anytime soon =) (I've been trying to get some of them converted to watching starcraft progaming, but alas, no such luck as of yet). Edit: Guess I can add this: I play horde on Dragonblight-EU, my main actually shares the same name as my username, lol.

And most of us, would prefer getting a partner that games too.. preferably wowers too, haha! (My alliance toon is on oceanic server, frostmourne!) For the most part though, if you're raiding, you've made a commitment to doing this instance for three or four hours. You've already told 9 or 24 other people that you'll do it, and presumably they are your friends, so in that aspect you can't just run out on on them. I met my girlfriend through WoW, which was also why I didn't mind spending a lot of time on the game. The downside is that she played a holy priest, me a holy paladin, so we couldn't do much in game together, as you generally only need a single healer. Raids aren't really a good way to spend time with someone. Stupid attention-paying-requirement.

my guildies have been with me for more then 3years too. And because of them, i turned down many offers from other top raiding guilds for me to join them.Staying strictly on PvP so i could be with my guild friends. Let's just say that, we play competitively on arenas but on casual world pvp. PvE content was just totally out for us due to timezone differences. (It's hard to get RPG players to convert to RTS i think.. I'm not sure if SC2 will get me hooked so badly that i won't return to WoW) Hehe On March 05 2009 18:02 Phearlock wrote: I've been playing on and off since may 2005, was never really that hardcore but I found a nice guild and while the guildname has changed once or twice I've stuck with the same people for about 3 years now. I own different characters so it's no issue switching classes as and when i need to. ^^ Eh, yes Raids are a pain in the ass. Especially when players go for smoking breaks one by one and we waste time waiting for them to return. Toilet breaks, smoking breaks, telephone calls etc* I just hate those.. -_____-" On March 05 2009 18:10 Ragnorak wrote: I met my girlfriend through WoW, which was also why I didn't mind spending a lot of time on the game. WoW was so much harder previously. Now it seems like it's changing it's game-play. We have lots of kids, gold-beggers, chuck noris fans... and silly barrens chat. I miss the pre-bc WoW. We both really didn't enjoy doing something that we're not good at. Still used to do it on occasion though. Raiding I absolutely love. If your raiders have time to think about the bathroom, smoking etc etc then you're not pulling fast enough. I used to have specificed break times throughout the night, and everyone knew when they were, so they tried to scedule stuff in that time, rather than on my time. If worst comes to worst though, you really don't need a full complement of raiders to clear the trash, or indeed most of the bosses. So if someone went afk, we just continued on.

But i don't even have enough turn ups.. the timezone difference is killing our fun. USA is minus 16 hours from Singapore.. I have to wake up at 6am to be able to hold raids for my guild.. the pain i am going through.. and now that i am working, i can't do that anymore. Ironic that soon after I made the char back in vanlilla they nerfed fear effects (again), heh, good fun. Still, I liked playing the class and oh how I still do, the most fun caster to play by far. (although I hated the fact that you sort of had to go SL/SL for PVP in TBC, which killed all the fun). I really don't enjoy leveling or grinding so yeah I've stuck with this being my only max lvl character through all of TBC and it'll probably remain so through all of WOTLK and beyond. ^^

And the stupid fel pet which kept biting me! Haha!!! Mages... hmmm, i like blinking out of movement impairment effects, i like polymorph pig/turtle.. and not forgetting "free arcane taxi" (portals) Till date the characters i leveled: Priest 78, Paladin 70, Mage 70, Rogue 61, DK 58, Warlock, 22, Druid 20, Warrior 15, Hunter 12... Lol! Simple way to level is to just park for rested xp then level.
