And I don't have a plunger.
Coat hanger? Chopstick and throw it away? Use my hands and then wash them thoroughly? FUckkkkkkk.
EDIT: I'll edit this later and make a more substantial blog. Ehhhh apparently there's some discussion to be had about this.

If you absolutely can't get a plunger, you could try a coat hanger, or possibly pouring loads of water from a high level, creating possibly enough force to force it down.

plastic bag + hands

I don't have any experience with this so it could be bad.
Don't flush the plastic bag.

I took two wooden chopsticks and duct taped them together and broke the gigantic shit apart. It was definitely wider than the entryway. WTF.

Plungers are 1 dollar at the dollar store.

Alternatively go outside and find a long stick or break it off a tree. I wouldn't stick my hand in the water even if I were to wash it with sanitizing alcohol afterwards, just the mental disgust would make me vomit.

Coat hanger might work too, I would suggest making it curved about 6 inches before the tip and making a 90 degree tip (~1 inch long) so that it works like a scoop. Be sure to let the water level go down naturally before you flush again.
Peace~

Actually, this is a good solution, assuming ur shit fits the size of average toilet-clogging shit.

I usually fill up a normal bucket of water, then flush and pour the water from the bucket at the same time.
Personally, never had a shit still hold after 2 buckets...

No man, it works. A bucket of hot water is the way to go; I've used it on multiple occasions, softens up teh poop. It is rarely the case that the shit clogs up the passage of water, just slows it down.

I'm surprised you have conducted a thorough investigation into the science of removing feces from a blocked passage by dropping set amounts of water at a set temperature from a set height while wearing a set garment, in lieu of getting a one dollar plunger. I'd love to see the 'need for further study' section.

The idea of using a solid object to actually make contact with teh shit is alot more repelling then simply pouring some water over it.

Doesn't the plunger get dirty? I'd throw it right away if I used it.. then buy a new one.

Water > plunger imo

What I find interesting is that in this situation, where your toilet is probably overflowing with septic water, your first reaction is to post on TL .

Didn't you read terms of use when registering?

In cases of emergency like this or, for example, having to use 911, you are obliged to post on TL first.
Otherwise you get IP-disney'd.

Nah it wasn't overflowing, and my first reaction was to play a game of chicken with my roommate, essentially continuing to shit until one of use got fed up.
THEN I decided to post it

Happened to me twice. When I understood what just happened I was the proudest man on the world. It was like the "achievement unlocked" feeling. I just kept flushing over and over again (flush and fait for the water to go slowly away) After a crap-load of flushes I finally got that evil bastard down.

I don't see how adding water works. I been through this many times and it is even worser when you plugg someone else's toilet. That's when u really feel the spiritual awakening of being a alpha male.

Oh but I always had used a plunger for these stinky situations. Although one time I did use a toilet scrubber. Let's just say that toilet scrubber wasn't a nice site to see and even sucked more after we found out using the other end(handle) of the toilet scrubber worked tons better for the drainage.

The idea of adding hot water seems practical, in the sense that the heat of the new water WOULD soften the mass, and the force of the impact of the water (especially the second bucket) would take advantage of the decreased structural integrity of the feces by forcing a strong current. However, the splatter effect, especially on a toilet that is more full than normal with feces and urine in it, is so repulsive to me. I can see it splattering around the toilet, on towels, on the sink, on the walls, all to be cleaned later or ignored and remembered every time you touch any surface. I would rather use some object and then dispose of it or wash it down (plunger).
Peace~

Wouldn't pouring more water into a toilet thats already clogged up just make it over-flow with bucket water?

hot water works magic. it's not gonna overflow unless you pour way too much at once. if it's completely clogged, then you probably shouldn't do this. but otherwise, it'll help.

God damnit. Reading this blog made me interested in how toilets work. Then that made me curious about where the flushed waste goes. From there, I went on to read up on stuff about city plumbing and reclaimed/recycled water... and how water treatment works. Then I started looking at stuff about pre-modern and alternative ways of dealing with waste: cesspools, septic tanks, etc. Only then was I able to stop my trail of distraction. Fuck you, wikipedia.

How could you possibly think that "use my hands and wash thoroughly" would be better than drive 10 minutes to the fuckin safeway down the road and buy a 3$ plunger....
