So today i checked my ACT writing scores and i got a 10 on my very first try... so happy!~!....... but unfortunatly my composite score wasn't as good (I think i'll keep it to myself so i don't ruin this brag blog), i was never good at writing cuz during all my practices i would get like 6's, or 8's on a GOOD day.
Anyways my question is if its able to use this essay score with another different composite test score to send to colleges?

It works with the SAT I. I"m not too sure about the ACT, though.

Congratz on the 10, I always do well on the other sections, but writing kills me. (32 composite 6 writing ): , I just write so freaking slowly and sloppily in pencil that by the time they call 5 minutes, ive only written like half a page).
As far as I know it doesn't work with either, especially not the sat, since its part of the larger writing section on it.

Nice, always feels good to do well, pity about the composite though. I have plenty of brag-able scores in the equivalent tests here, but there's not really much point mentioning them. :D

gj !
Though I believe that the writing only serves as a supplement to the rest of the test. That is, the colleges use it to break ties or if they're unsure based on your composite score. They just want to make sure you know how to write.

Some colleges do that and some do not.
Most colleges will keep your best score on the SAME test, that means if you get a 7 on writing and like.. a 28 composite they'd take that way over 10 on writing with whatever you have. Colleges don't even ask for SAT writing scores, I have no idea why it's even on the test, same basically with the ACT.

GJ i got a 10 too
and a 30 composite
and to answer your question, you can only pair that writing score with that test. No mixing and matching.

Depends, although by and far the answer would be no.
Logistically, most of the colleges using the CommonApp will not let you do so.
I'm sure some other colleges do, although the only one I know of that does is MIT.

Good job, what was your overall score though?

36 composite 20 writing 50 A+++ Gold stars Deluxe

I didn't even take the ACT Writing. My English score fucked my over with a 27. My composite was 32 but I really regret not retaking it because I'm fairly certain it would have allowed me to get a scholarship/better scholarship.

I took the act for the hell of it but according to a comparison chart my Sat's were slightly better so I just relied on those for my college admissions.

I got a 20 my first time as a sophomore.
I honestly can't remember any specific things, like individual math/english
