So today i checked my ACT writing scores and i got a 10 on my very first try... so happy!~!....... but unfortunatly my composite score wasn't as good  (I think i'll keep it to myself so i don't ruin this brag blog), i was never good at writing cuz during all my practices i would get like 6's, or 8's on a GOOD day.Anyways my question is if its able to use this essay score with another different composite test score to send to colleges? [/brag]   | ||

Though I believe that the writing only serves as a supplement to the rest of the test. That is, the colleges use it to break ties or if they're unsure based on your composite score. They just want to make sure you know how to write. | ||

Most colleges will keep your best score on the SAME test, that means if you get a 7 on writing and like.. a 28 composite they'd take that way over 10 on writing with whatever you have. Colleges don't even ask for SAT writing scores, I have no idea why it's even on the test, same basically with the ACT. | ||

 and a 30 composite and to answer your question, you can only pair that writing score with that test. No mixing and matching. | ||

Logistically, most of the colleges using the CommonApp will not let you do so. I'm sure some other colleges do, although the only one I know of that does is MIT. | ||

I got a 29 composite (31 math, 33 reading, 27 science, 26 english) and an 8 on the writing... I was tied for highest score in my school lol, and was the only one to get over a 25 on the science. | ||

First time SAT - 6 Second time SAT - 7 Only time ACT - 6 But I still managed a 31 composite score on the ACT despite my horribad reading section. | ||
