i cant exceed 2GBs of upload and 4GBs of download in a 7-day period on my college network.
on january 1st, i uploaded 1955 MB. i remember watching the winners league between SKT and estro through yaoyuan, which i think it was p2p? not sure, so i ask u, was it because of live streaming? i rarely watch things live, btw.
my 7-day data out history: 12 MB 15 MB 12 MB 35 MB 18 MB 1955 MB

yes, it was because of streaming if you used p2p.

Is there a way to find out these kinds of limits yourself, or is it just a policy you have to find out about?

I can't even port out on anything but Http, consider yourself lucky.

Wow that really sucks with only 2 gigs.
I usually go to the schools library and they have amazing download speeds can usually can get around 3-5MB/s. First week I think I downloaded about 30Gigs worth of movies and other stuff because I don't have a TV in my apartment and didn't have internet.

My university internet is better than any other internet I have access too...
But sry CapO >< I mean, hopefully wherever you go will update it eventually because that is pretty ghetto.

I get 12Gb up/down per day here at my university but somehow I end up using up all of them within matter of hours.

my computer IP is registered to my school's internet network, so they keep the track of what i download and upload, but if i want to use internet without worrying about any limits, i could go to one of the school's computer labs, where i log in with my user name and pw.
they only have limits on personal computers used in dorms or apartments my internet was suspended for 24 hours, until they reset one of the days from the 7-day period at midnight.
i gotta be careful for another 24 hours, because i'm very close to capping the limit. after tonight, 800 MBs worth of download from jan 27th will be reset

it resets each day? wow,, lucky you. our school's being poor, man. we get $30 dollars worth of printing, and if we use up the $30, we have to spend our own money to print stuff out...
last year when i was a freshman, printing was unlimited and free.
going green... w00t... :/
also, we no longer get any term bills in mails, but in e-mails.
lame rutgers.

lmao rutgers have a crazy dc++ hub that download crap in seconds.
|
Lol that sucks... my college doesn't have any restrictions on bandwidth.
The only downside to the amazing speed is that they refuse to open any ports.... so no hosting games for me EVER
