oh c'mon... that's like, the one stereotype that isn't true

Canadian winter makes me wish I were dead. It's fun if you're on vacation and skiing and stuff, but it's pretty much the most brutal thing in the world if you're trying to get to work or school. Fuck shovelling the driveway too.
Threads like this always make me feel bad about complaining that we seem to be having a colder than normal winter. It's been right around exactly freezing the last week or so during the days and definitely colder at night. Heck, we even had like two feet of snow drop on us in late December. Nonetheless, I would absolutely love it if it were 60F outside. Good luck braving the remaining winter all you hearty Canadians.
It hit -34.3°C without windchill in Fredericton, New Brunswick about 2 weeks ago, and that's the coldest I remembering it being. It was below -40°C windchill. And I had to bus to university. -_-
It's -18°C out now, and windchill makes it feel like -28°C.
Ouch, that is freezing - the thing about Seoul is - it's not the temperature that makes the Winter so cold it's the biting wind - without that it'd probably feel like nothing.

You live in Manitoba too? You should post in the TL User Locations thread.
It's really cold here. We had a short break for the last three days where it's felt like -30C instead of -40C. For you Americans, our average temperature is around -22F without windchill. That's for six months of the year. It snows in Winnipeg almost every year on Halloween.
It feels really cold in Canada. Then you go stand on top of a realllly tall hill or perhaps a mountain with no tree protection. And then it's really really really cold.

I live on the plains. There isn't any protection. I've been skiing many times and it's just as cold.
I think I'll move to a warmer climate in a few years. The only thing is, I don't have to worry about any bugs or infestation in Winnipeg because the cold climate kills everything.

hey, a fellow manitobian was up?
yeah it's just not holloween unless there is snow on the ground lol
Yeah, I'll bitch about my lows getting 0 Celsius at night. Just means in the summer it sometimes gets up to 48 C, but I could care less. I love the heat.
im in new jersey and when the sun goes down it gets to about 0 F with windchill and I'm shaking all over after a minute or so of walking my dog, i dont know how you guys can deal with those temps =[
Oh yeah and when people complain it's hot and it's 80 degrees outside it pisses me off when it gets so hot here that you can feel your skin burning -_-

Be grateful that you have a transit system. This fucking bus strike is pissing me off as a university student. Both sides can go to hell, I don't give a shit about who is at fault.
I've lived in Winnipeg for 14 years, so I can attest to some frigging freezing winters. Which makes me laugh at everyone here in Ottawa who starts whining at -25 Celsius. But to be fair, it's been a fairly cold winter so far...
Sorry to all the Americans but i don't know what 0F or 80F is . And -25 is cold no matter where you live i remeber one time i walked outside on the coldest day yet to let me dog out and i started coughing it was so cold and my pants froze instantly cause they were still moist from the washing machine. :>).
Hey, sorry for being off-topic but does anybody know where the thread where testie posted the Reality, Worst Game Ever. picture?
On topic, it's pretty cold in Canada. But I did manage to walk barefeet in my backyard in the snow for about 10 minutes. I live in Toronto though so I'm not quite sure how it compares to more northern cities.
Wow. How can someone consider 50F cold? Seriously thats +10C, thats like a nice spring day in Canada. I live in edmonton, and I work 10-12hours a day outside in the cold weather. Since december we have had 13-15 days of -40F/C (same thing), and sadly ive had to work in it all day long every time.

I once went to school with my hair not dried because i was late and was running like crazy and when i arrived i realized my hair frozen....
Reading negative celcius temperatures always fucks with my head, because i'm used to thinking of celcius as being much greater in magnitude than the corresponding fahrenheit (like 30C is about 90F). So when I see -30C I think, -90F and I'm like DAAAAMN I knew Canada was bad but I didn't realize it was THAT bad! (-90F is about -125C )
I really need to get better at thinking in the metric system.

That's cool. Here you'd die before you get to school.
