FUCK THFK SAJGLJSFKLADHGLKSAFJLSAGDJSALK
so i'm a very methodical calculating individual. i have not locked myself out of anything in 5 years. tonight, however, i get home and my neighbor is having a party. i say "sure i'll stop by, just lemme drop off my laptop." I drop it off and apparently leave my keys on the desk.
i call a fucking locksmith and he says its 35$ to come and 15$ to let me in. i say FUCK and say ok fine come over. he then proceeds to charge me 120 FUCKING DOLLARS JWKLFJAKLGJSA. i say WHAT THE FUCK NO YOU SAID 35+15 = 50. he says "no i said 15 and up." that fucking lying weasel. i obviously have no proof other than my word which is OBVIOUSLY FUCKING CORRECT since i have such an unrealistically good memory ESPECIALLY WITH NUMBERS.
i mean FUCK i don't program ANY PHONE NUMBERS INTO MY PHONE I REMEMBER ALL OF THEM BECAUSE I REMEMBER NUMBERS SO FUCKING WELL and this FUCKING SHITHEAD FAGGOT seems to think i would just let it slip by.
so now i lose 120$ that i cannot afford because of this fucking faggot
god damnit i'm so angry

wow what a lying son of a bitch
|
wow what the fuck is with the 35 to come? that's an odd charge. so if you only pay 35, he'll come and laugh at you and wont let you in? it seems like blackmail, almost
|
its a shame, ive heard of that happening way too many times, also with car repairs.
|
Live with your brother in Korea? But seriously, people like them are greedy for money. That sucks to be a victim like that. =/
|
That's bullshit, you should complain to w/e company he works for.
At least try to get him fired.
|
If I can find my phone mic, I will prank call this faggot and post it here for the lolz.
=[
Hey also, if he performed the work without writing up a formal estimate PRIOR to providing the service, and if you live in California, what he did was illegal and you can certainly get your money back. My tech bench went through all sorts of trouble because of how strict cali service laws are (cali is super liberal/anti business owner, lol)

I was in China, and I got lost in Shanghai (tried to walk back to the motel). I called a taxi - who drove me 1minute to the hotel, and proceeded to charge me the same amount it would've cost to drive through half the city, because I was obviously a foreigner - and therefore to be ripped off. Thatfucked me off too
|
i locked myself out so many times that i became good at getting in through windows (i do have to do some acrobatics tho and i need something like a chair or our garbage container to climb onto to reach that window). i dont even bother having a key anymore (true story)

We have a hail mary window at my house. Its a window that is really loud and requires alot of effort to open.

He's already come round he's already down $35 so he'll probably try and get some compromise. If he fixes it and says it's 120 just be lol "lolno, here's 50, bye".

Uh dude....all taxis in China have a little counter that starts at 10 kuai (for Beijing) and goes up. That's how much you pay, so you can refuse if it's higher.
Did you take those unmarked taxis with unlicensed drivers and no counter? Stay away from those.

Don't you have a spare key lying around near your home or get a friend to keep one for you?

Day, I had to remove the phone number of the guy and the part where you said people should prank call him etc.
I know the feeling though, I once payed an obscene amount of money to get back into my appartment (only time ever in my life that I lost a key), it was like 170 Euro, which must be far above 200 USD. -.- Was a Saturday Night though.

When i was in Vietnam with friends some taxi drivers tried to rip us but we always bargained hahah even for 1$ ^_^ ( it was like 18 000 dongs if i remember ) So we almost always paid the "right" price.
But i feel sorry for Day. I would have been so mad.

wait you locked yourself out of your house? I'm pretty sure a window doesn't cost 120$ you coulda just broke in your own house, or kicked in the door or something.
|
Or just call another locksmith.
|
120 is actually extreemly cheap.
|
unless you have a very very complex door lock, you could have probably done it yourself with paperclip + knife + another paperclip as a rake + an hour of time.
|
usd120 lol.... thats overpriced

Typical items you would have on hand when you're locked out of your house.
|
Lowlife Blacksmith.
Thats like 1/4 the cost of a nice new computer.
|
Hrm, around here, the police department does such things for free, (vehicles and houses) although very people know about that service. But then again, I live in a tiny ass town in Michigan, so I dunno if that applies anywhere else.
|
my stepdad is a locksmith. he would have done it for 20-40 flat.

Oh damn that sucks. Big "woopsie". Was the party worth it atleast?
|
Did you try to break in some other way?
basement windows are generally easy to break into without damage, and you probably left some window unlocked somewhere
I always try that before phoning a locksmith
I locked my keys in my car (running) yesterday ;_;
|
in america when something sucks your suppossed to be able to get your money back! Go day!

im sure if you knock on the neighbors door and show them your dilemma they would have those items to lend you, just a kitchen knife and a few paperclips is all it takes... I would have at least tried before spending over a bill on an overpriced locksmith.

Wow that sucks... I wouldn't call $480 enough to buy a nice new computer... Maybe a half-way decent one though.
|
Haha, owned.
Next time something like that happens, just be like, "Well I guess we both have a problem."
And he'll say, "What's that?"
You say, "You just came out here for nothing, and I'm still locked out of my house."

A family member of mine started receiving strange ads to his cell phone a few months ago and now contacted her operator about it and found out that the company sending the messages had always charged her about $5 when she opened one of those messages.
Thing is she never ordered anything from those things, scams like this suck ass.

omg that's what happened to me a while back. and the dude from AAA had a really hard time trying to get the door to open and ultimately had to go between the door with the super thin thing and push down the window lol. destroyed the rubber thing inside the door though, it's like shredded haha =/.
that sucks day, greed is lame
|
I've never heard of it before, but it certainly makes sense. The person essentially has enormous power over you. "Pay me or you don't get in at all!"
|

meter?
|
if he charged you the number it said on the meter which is 11 yuan and 13 after 11pm, then he charged you the initial fee which applies to all distances within 3-4 kilometers. Hard to rip off foreigners when there's a meter running right in front of you.
|
tell him to play bet games with you.
If you beat him once, it's 10$ if you beat him twice it's 50$ and if you beat him three times, you kick his ass. (´+ 120$)
|
Dude, you give him the $50 and tell him to take you to court if he doesn't like it. Don't let assholes push you around, man.
|
He'll get what's coming to him. If not from tl.net, from other people who he screws in the future.
|
Honestly leave him a mean phone call, and tell him you won't recommend his service to ANYONE. He might at least give you part of that money back.
|

I really doubt this would do much and the guy would probably just have a laugh over it. I guess the bright side is, if this is something that makes you really mad and it's only over a few bucks then you must be doing pretty well.
|
Aw that sucks.
This is why you need to learn to pick locks.
I keep my lockpicks with me at all times in case I get locked out.
|

LOL - yeah, so why not just treat your keys like your lockpicks.

$120 is like 16 hours at work for me.... fuck paying even half that....
|
Not much you can do really; He knows that he has the power to get that much money from you. As wrong as that is it's just good business for him. All you can do is tell your friends to not use that lock breaker the next time they get locked out of their house but god knows what the alternatives are.
|
that sucks, but yeah definitely what people do these days
my carpet store loses a lot of business to home depot and other places because they're 'cheaper', but then they end up paying a lot more and the installers mess up their floor :/
