Hopefully this post will point a lurker in the right direction!

The double-edged sword that is the internet gave us something amazing, free information. Though a lot use strictly the pornographic or gaming aspects of the internet (to which I have no objection) there's still a great part left, free education. Now learning things that have nothing to do with your job or your current educational studies are becoming a hobby.

One of my pet peeves is to be in the dark about something that is known to others. Here are some links to get you started on becoming autodidactic.

Go here for most of the edu resources!
Here too!

To start off here are some university funded projects:

MIT OpenCourseWare
MIT presents us with 1800 courses worth of information.
http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/web/home/home/index.htm

MIT Lecture Videos
http://www.youtube.com/user/MIT

Stanford Itunes U
http://itunes.stanford.edu/

Stanford Lecture Videos
http://www.youtube.com/user/stanforduniversity

Berkley Lecture Videos <<Thanks to Sonuvbob
http://webcast.berkeley.edu/courses.php

Great channel for math tutorials:
Khan Academy
http://www.youtube.com/user/khanacademy

N - If your not good at grasping information in book form, this instructor is brilliant at video tutorials of math.

Gerard 't Hooft guide to becoming a physicist:
HOW to BECOME a GOOD Theoretical Physicist
http://www.phys.uu.nl/~thooft/theorist.html#lis

N - Includes links to instructional sites that range from statistics to particle physics.

Microbiology:
Many things dealing with cells and genetics
http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/

Psychology:
Classics
http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/index.htm

Languages:
BBC
http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/

Live Mocha Similar to Rosetta with a scheduler.
http://www.livemocha.com/

W2W Composite of free language lessons online.

Internet Script:
Learning Java

Free Book Resources:
20+ PD Book Links
Scrib'd

Documentaries:

Hopefully this will quench the thirst of those wishing to learn. If your tired of procrastinating and really want to broaden your horizons then pick a topic and you'll find it on the net (more than likely for free). Don't let the internet go to waste, make your choice to learn something new and do it!

Some sites to keep up on the pioneers and advancement of your interests.

This is awesome!

I am actually taking chem 2 starting in a few weeks, and since I haven't taken chem 1 since over a year ago, I was looking for an easy way to brush up, and I am sure with these resources I can find it. Not to mention the fact that during the summer I can explore whatever subjects I fancy.

This is really great, thanks. iTunes has an education section that has a lot of the things from these sites in one place that you can easily dig through to find podcasts of lectures.

This is awsome. I didnt think I would find so much great links on a gaming site. Now I can refer teamliquid.net to my co-students & professors (neither of whom is a gamer ).

Can you turn this into a main forum post and everyone contribute to it?
"Oh no, we've drawn Judge Schneider" "Is that bad?" "Well, he's had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog" "You did?" "Yeah...if you replace the word *kinda* with *repeatedly*...and the word *dog* with son"

Thank you. Though I believe the hooft page was originally a personal swipe at someone, but it looks like he has added to it and generalized it.
Do you really want chat rooms?
