Any thoughts??
As my first semester of freshman year just ended at college, I basically have one month off for the break.
So aside from the usual: catching up on sleep, meeting up with my friends, and playing SC, I actually want to make some good use of my vacation rather than relaxing/doing nothing.
Any suggestions? What have you guys done in the past or are planning to do this coming break?
Please share! :D

This year is the first year that I haven't went back home for Christmas to spend it with my family and instead, stayed here where I live, about 1500 km away from my parents. So I decided to make most of the 3,5 weeks of holidays I have and started to go to the gym. Everyday.

Wawaweewa, a whole month! One week here =(.
I would catch up on some general reading, which is what I love to do (but never make time for during school). Relaxing is the best! I'm also spending most of the time with my family. Just do what you enjoy most!

I'd say that relaxing/doing nothing is a pretty good use of a holiday.

I've also decided on going to the gym everyday o.o' that and i need to fill out college apps/ study for my midterms / make my deadline where i work ( since it's closed for most of the holidays)

Did Rutgers finish finals today or so? I posted on my friend's Facebook like a month ago and she hasn't replied since

Relaxing and doing nothing is making good use of vacation...seriously, it's good for your body and your mind.

Awww Wish i had a month. I have a mere 2 week and after that final exams. i envy you

Read some books or take a vacation. Relax. College gets stressful as fuck. You can't be doing something 365 days a year. You'll be one of those 3rd semester wrist slitters around finals.

I'd say study, but it's so hard to do when you're home for break.
realistically, just unwind so you can be effective when you get back to school.

For me this is the first winter break that I haven't had a job since I was 15, so I have a lot more free time than I'm used to and am kind of in the same boat as you.
My plan was just to relax, watch a lot of movies, spend time with my girlfriend, and actually TRY to get a bit of reading for next semester done while I have some free time. But that last part about reading is mainly just because I've been taking a ridiculous amount of credit hours (21 plus auditing another class) so I kind of need to do that, although the material I was planning on reading is actually pretty interesting too.
I don't think there's anything wrong with just doing nothing either though. I mean, it does get old pretty fast, but most people rarely have the time to just do nothing all day, so it's kind of a nice change to be able to not do anything all day every so often.

I plan to catch up on a lot of random things I haven't had enough time to do recently like: spending more time with the gf, preparing my stuff for when I move into my new place, giving my car a really good clean (rather than just a quick scrub on the outside), spending more time OUTSIDE, and playing through MGS4 (I know this is at odds with the last one, but I bought the game on release day, and havent played more than 30 - 45mins of it).

My first semester at college just ended too, on the 12th. I'm using the time to find a damn job!

Work/volunteer.
Long winter breaks sound great until you actually get them. I guarantee by your senior year, you'll hate having a month off.
